I think your parents should go out for the night with mine - perfectly matched. Mine love those crap pub chains with two meals for under a tenner. My dad has been known to change curry houses because the poppadums have gone up by 20p } QUOTE

This is what happens when you have to watch the pennies and look at the prices charged. How do these coffee shops warrant over £3 for a cup of coffee, but all the time there are people willing to pay it they will charge it. My major beef is when a cafe charges more than about 20p for a slice of B & B Having bought a fry up I believe the B & B should be free.

The cheapest meal to produce in bulk is a roast dinner.

When tucking into a fry up the last thing i think about is an extra 20p for a slice of bread FFS, if this is what happens when you get old I'm not joining !

It was on the chefs program with Gordon Ramsey telling them where they were going wrong. They did what he said and it never recovered and was then refused permission to be converted to a Spoons.

Spoons pulled out get your facts right. The Building Falling apart. The roof leaking and the water coming up through the floor. As long as the outside of the building is looked after I would be happy with Flats. But I wish it was back as a girls school ..:drama:

Only time I have been there was for Peter Bywaters wedding reception and I thought the place had a lot of character.

How do you know this BG ???
Experience in the pub trade.. You are correct about the pubs in the Broadway and Spoons led by a part owner of one who is on the council.

The problems posted by The Birdman wouldnt have caused Spoons to pull out as they earmark £1m- £1.5m for refurbishment of all newly aquired premises with a profit not expected between 8- 10 years. That came from Tim Martin himself who I have known since his first pub in partnership with Andrew Marler.

That place existed far longer than it ever deserved. Any place my mum and dad endorsed as good value is a warning to me to avoid, given they describe anywhere charging more than £7.99 for three courses as "a rip off". Pensioners eh? Deluded. Refuse to pay £2.50 for a coffee too when the WI charge 20p....ignoring its not the same product and the latter is staffed by volunteers...but no, it's a RIP-OFF! :) Yes mum, now please shut up because you're not even paying. I am...and breath!!

Do you have a son or nephew called Ben perchance...?

What do you mean by a profit not expected for 8-10 years? Are you confusing profit with payback?
