One of my neighbours has lived in her two bed semi since before the war, she recently got a new front door and it cost twice as much as she paid for the house.

A shilling to get in the Goldstone in the 60's and you could pay 6d transfer at half time to go and stand behind the opposite goal in the 2nd half.

1/6d for a GALLON of petrol and 1/2d for a packet of fags.

That is what this thread is about but just to help you there was 240 pennies (d) to a pound, 20 shillings (s) to a pound and 12 pennies to a shilling.

1p = approx 2.5d
5p = approx 1 shilling.
