Well, comparatively to the leagues below it.

I mean, you can get a season ticket for Aston Villa for less than you can at Kettering Town. Kettering ffs! Another one is, you can go and watch Birmingham for roughly the same cost as Walsall on a match by match basis despite there being two leagues between them.

Shit. Here I am renewing my Season Ticket at Brighton like a mug. Can I cancel my direct debit so I can watch Birmingham get turned over by equally shit premiership teams?

Yes, you only go to football to watch your team play pretty triangles in their own third. Anyway, I compared the prices of those Premier League clubs to their local lower league teams, showing that despite what is an obvious gulf in quality, they're priced similarly. That's like me saying Crawley aren't overpirced, charging roughly the same as some Brighton tickets despite being non-league.

Less games? Yeah, about 4.

iv got a Walsall mate at work who is trying to drag me along to watch them play MK Dons away on Friday night. £20 a pop.

I turned my nose up at £25 for the Albion so £5 less to watch 2 teams i couldnt care less about in a 1/4 filled stadium, hmmmm

Not really. The market is able to bear these high prices as demonstrated by the fact that our second division is 5th best supported league in the world.

We'd all like to pay less, but the fact is we all pay more because we accept those prices.

I've been to most away games this season, but if we get promoted, I will probably have to cut back at bit because of prices in the Championship will be higher. I can remember the outcry on here when Palace priced their tickets at £30 in 2005 when we were last there.
If we ever get to the Premiership, then I would struggle to afford more than half the away games in a season. £48 seems to be a typical figure for the bigger clubs.

Ticket revenue is no longer the main source of income for top-flight clubs.

Only a few clubs charge crazy prices. Many offer dirt-cheap STs. Think this is well known, tbh.

To be fair though the Bescot is a cracking little ground and when they're playing well it's rocking.

so because people accept the prices it doesnt mean they are overpriced?

that maybe some sort of rule of economics or something, but to me something is overpriced if it doesnt offer value for money. the fact that you can fly to frankfurt, get to mainz and watch a budesliga game involving a team pushing for europe for less than it costs for a day out to bournemouth v brighton in the third division of english football means that it is overpriced. if we hadnt have been so good this season then id almost certainly have taken up the germany option on a far more regular basis

If true, that is an astonishing fact. I'm guessing by 2nd division you mean Championship?...... So the Premier League and only 4 other leagues, in the world, have a greater average attendance than the Championship? Well flip me off.

I take it you won't be getting a season ticket then?

Which is great because already the new stadium is having the desired effect. Bobble hat wankers like you are already being put off.
