The greedy owners will always want to focus on the monetary side although any fan that likes the idea needs shooting.Its so sad to see football ruined by money when in the not so distant past it's done so much good throughout the world and money was never mentioned in such a way.

How do we see the future......I am sure TB must have looked at the league.......A top 6 and rest trying to stay up ! Better than most Euorpean leagues fo sure.......But the money will always win, and we need a structure that we can thrive.

Either that or the league will be split into two with Premier League 1 with the top 6 + 4 others getting all the tv money and the other ten playing for the 'privilege' of getting into Premier League 1 then getting a pasting (but a nice pay off).

Liam Rosenior said it at the start of the season, there's not a lot of difference between the best championship teams and lower premier league teams and there lies the real competition because most games against the top aren't competitive. Tony Bloom said the realistic aim was survival for the foreseeable future.

Why not get rid of the top six and have a competitive league? It would still be on tv, we would get less gloating from plastics, and there'd probably be fewer tourists sapping the atmosphere.

There has often been talk of a breakaway European or indeed, global Champions League, the usual suspects, Barca Real, PSG , Man U. When the same teams dominate their domestic leagues so totally apart from the odd slip up, is it any wonder that fans thirsts are for further excitement than Burnley at home on a Tuesday night ?

You know how they always say humans will be on Mars in 30 years, and have been since the Moon landings? Well, in the same way for the past 35 years or so they've been saying there'll be a European League in ten. Never happens.

It will be better for the game if you can enter each season with at least a chance of winning the competition you enter, so the quicker the mega clubs breakaway the better!

Yes, there will be a re-adjustment of finances but the clubs/players in the new 'Premier League' will have to adapt accordingly.

To just tread water season after season will get boring very quickly if it stays as it is.

We have not got to Mars yet because it COSTS money, a European League will EARN money, therein lies the difference.

A genuine Euro League would need to be a rung above the top national leagues of each country, with the teams no longer participating in the national league. The problem is that while there could be promotion to it distributed evenly (at first), it wouldn't be possible to do the same with with relegation as national borders are not flexible (like the Northern/Southern leagues in England are). And you have to have some method of qualification.

You could solve that with no relegation - but then there could be no promotion either and it would just end up as the German/Spanish/Italian and English invitation (money) league.

If you have the Euro League alongside the national league then teams in both would probably need two teams, one for each more or less.

The whole idea is a non-starter. Why would Liverpool throw away local rivalry with Everton for instance? And as far as midweek, I'd definitely rather be in the championship where there are weekend games. Midweek games are a massive PITA for those of us who work and don't live in Brighton, I am sure if it happened we would suffer a big hit.

I think there’s a big gap between the Championship and the Premier League, even at the bottom.. We have just experienced it having spent 60 million pounds and we still struggled big time. Newcastle basically had a Premier League squad in the Championship but Huddersfield and us would have ended up with a record low without the big influx of expensive players.

If you have the Euro League alongside the national league then teams in both would probably need two teams, one for each more or less.

Thats easy to arrange. Top six play in the new EuroLeage but play a combination of first teamers and U23 in the Premier. That evens up the strength of the PL. Bottom 2 teams in Euro League can be replaced by the highest placed team in the respective country next season. eg if Chelsea played this year and get relegated in Euro League then they would be replaced by this years 7th placed club Burnley. That way each country would always have the same number of teams in the Euro league.
