I'm going to draft the man that ZLATAN himself described as "my inspiration".

He's the cultured rock in the heart of my defence. Fits loads of categories. Plus he's extremely handsome.

OLOF MELLBERG.

I can now write a bit about Kevin Phillips now the pick is secured.

This is a man who scored 30 (THIRTY!) league goals in 36 games in the 1999-2000 Premier League season for Sunderland (who finished 7th that season with +1 goal difference). He has been a stalwart of English football, playing for 20 years and having a career total of 282 goals in 660 games in the top two tiers. He is the ONLY Englishman to win the European Golden Shoe.

Max Paper is now up, but given he's missed his last two and so is eligible for THREE this time round, I'll not hold my breath.

It seems like there's a real contrast in the picks at the moment, some very well considered and some...well, not so much.

I must admit I've thought a few of the picks to seem a bit random, but I guess it really just shows that everyone has their own way of going at this.

Personally I was quite tempted to just go for players I like or liked watching, and never mind the voting. Perfectly valid to go about it in that way in my opinion. Although to be fair, due to my early draft number, I've been able to combine objective quality with subjective appreciation!

Absolutely.

I don't think there is any such thing as an invalid way of doing this - its meant to be fun after all.

I'm picking the team that I would most want to go and watch. Simple as that.

There are a couple of categories which are concerning me a bit now as the available players are getting scarce. Going to have to condensate on those next picks.

I think if you have a player who would be in your own Best Ever PL XI, you can be happy (especially as there are 24 players in the draft). I have two, so whatever happens now I am pleased with my choices.

I was wondering what would happen if someone dropped out well before the end of the draft (not sugguesting Max Papaer is or will drop out).

In the last draft we had someone stop a few picks from the end but i thought the solution of picking a couple of players at the end to fill in the blanks was acceptable, but what if they still need half a team or more?

I can't see it being fair if the choices they have already made are thrown back into the pot as it would favour whoever was next to go as they would be able to pick up a first round choice deep into the competition. - If they say they quit, do we just freeze them out? and if they change their minds and return before the end, do we just let them catch up?

Kevin Phillips!

How has he not been picked? (He's not been picked right?)

Another one i was seriously thinking about picking but went with Dwight Yorke instead as Yorke has scored over 100 league goals (123), won top domestic and European honours whereas Phillips played for Palace in the season they beat us in the play-offs.

Should Max Paper not make their picks again, albionalex will be free to pick from 03:33

I'd been thinking about this too - I reckon the fairest way would be to just freeze his picks so that they are ineligible to be drafted, otherwise as you say it would be biased in favour of whoever was next when the decision was made.

Looking at his profile, Max Paper hasn't logged on to NSC at all since the 9th of February.
