We basically forced Glenn out. It's a completely different scenario to Potter and people comparing the two are idiotic
I seem to remember people chanted "let him die" when he got injured in the play-off semi first leg, there was a lot of hate for him, as there is for Potter now. And many didn't want him back in 2016 either.
Don't think its completely different, maybe the manner of the respective departures, but not the vibe.
(I'm not a potter "licker/fanboy" btw, not my choice for manager just to clarify)

I don't want to see Potter back here, not because he isn't good enough. If there was no emotional connection to the club, I could say he might be a good appointment. If there was no emotional connection to the club, I would not go and watch the team play very often though. If he came back, I would go to the games, but I would just be a spectator, not a fan.

Some people did shout abuse at GM when he was injured, yes.

Many, many more showed him the respect he deserved, and clapped him off. Me amongst them.

I was really pleased when GM came back, and I don't remember any antagonism towards him. I would NOT be happy to see Potter back. At all.

Potter 2nd favourite for the now vacant Leicester job.

I’m going to have a little dabble at that.

Hopefully one of the first things he’ll experience is us taking KDH off his hands!

Fair enough. I was also really happy he came back, he was the missing cog in the team that got us promoted that year.
As I said, I'd rather not go back but if it happens I wouldn't complain really. (Until we go on another massive home winless run, then I will BOOOOOOOOOOOO alone in my room).

Can't forget when he left he said if he wanted an easy life he would have stayed at Brighton, obviously didn't give us 100%, I trust in our recruitment that we won't go back.
I think you’re misunderstanding that comment. If you’re looking to be offended you can interpret it in a certain way. I think he was making the legitimate point that the Chelsea job is harder because there’s much more pressure from fans, media and owners and a bigger spotlight. That’s all quite true. His words weren’t ideally chosen though. BTW, I’m not keen on him returning but I think these random quotes people come out with are silly. You can trawl through interviews and always find something to be outraged by if that’s your wish.

I went fence. I am not advocating for Potter's return, I do think it would be problematic and the club should have to be prepared for the depth of feeling it would unleash. That said from a football perspective, I would not have a problem with Potter if Tony went that way I could accept it.

Hopefully I'm looking at this in that way as well. I don't like how this board has yet again descended into bedwetters vs lickers again/ potter fanboys vs de zerbi fanboys.
Get outta here, I’m not a ‘fanboy’ of either. I can express the view that I don’t want to see Potter return without being a bed wetter. Why the constant need on this forum for name calling and stupid nicknames for everyone — politicians, players, other forum members….. does my head in. You… you big smelly hairy twit. Hmm, yeah, it’s quite therapeutic actually I suppose.

I'm sorry, just to clarify I meant to put '' marks over those insults, wasn't calling anyone that. It kind of seems that way from reading things on here recently.
Also I'm small, not so smelly and a twat not a twit. I am slightly hairy though I'll give you that . kiss Kiss

It’d sting a little bit, after how he left and the fallout.

But really, there’s no denying it’d be a good appointment for both parties.

Give him a 1 year contract and let’s see how it goes…

Has there been any actual reliable reports anywhere at all that we are actually considering him? As in journalists with actual sources. Or is it all just wild speculation?

More wishful thinking by some I believe. All very odd happy excepting a coach who clearly wasn’t as good as the last one.
