This Bsck to boring shot shy football served up by a boring back stabbing manager
The first statement is just utter, utter bollocks.

I can’t argue with the second statement but the emotion of the departure means so many have to rewrite history. Pathetic.

Shots is fine. His team's don't score goals.
What you're actually showing us there is that we scored 22 goals less than Leeds in 20/21 and 12 less than Southampton in 19/20
My post has nothing to do with scoring goals.

I was making a point about and provided evidence for the the comment that we were ‘shot shy’ under Potter. People are making bollocks up because they hate Potter so much.

In terms of scoring goals, Potter struggled to install a belief in his players that they could finish moves and score. It wasn’t until 2022 that he finally solved this issue.

It shouldn't take any manager over two seasons to make professional footballers believe they can score goals.

Well, he inherited this statistic so it wasn’t too bad.

I’m not going to question TB’s judgement by implication in stating he shouldn’t have given him a chance to get his players scoring. That faith in Potter delivered us our highest ever finishing position at that time.

This.

Sometimes it seems that after-timing is a new Olympic sport

Urrghh I wish this rumour would go away. Potter was divisive for the fan base for most of his first stint, if he comes back it will be awful. Please don’t do this to us Tony. The fans and the management need to be united.

Danny Welbeck should be in the Championship? Because we’ve just extended his contract.
Sick note when he arrived here wasn’t he? So not playing that many games before the medical team fixed him? Out for a long time before he came back on Boxing Day 2021. Who else did we have who was PL quality? One PL quality striker is not going to see you do anything special. Who were the others? Not a great regular goal scorer anyway is he?

I like him btw

My gut reaction says no. But if we are honest with ourselves it would make a lot of sense.

1) undoubtedly a good coach
2) knows the club and most of the players very well
3) style is not that dissimilar to RDZ other than he knows how to defend
4) after the Chelsea experience he may understand that jumping to a bigger club is not necessarily the best move and stay longer

But then…

5) he is a snake
6) he is a money grabbing snake
7) he is a Bruno grabbing snake

So I voted fence.

I could be persuaded if he rocks up with a conciliatory interview and the right words. If he tries to give us a history lesson again though I may boo or loudly boo the next time we win the xG and lose 1-0.

There’s no point in you being there. We have to support whoever Bloom chooses. Everybody acting like Potter has done you a personal attack. You all get worse things done to you day to day than a manager changing clubs. Yeah I was annoyed when he left but I’ve got over it. We can pick over how he did last time in the smallest way but I remember him getting this club really believing we could do something (Europe, fa cup). Yes RDZ got us in to Europe but on the back of what potter built. RDZ was never gonna change Blooms transfer policy and nor should he and now he’s in the running for the Chelsea job ! The famous boxing promoter Mickey Duff used to say If you want loyalty buy a dog.

We need to support potter if he does come.

I think you may be right, might be worth a poll. I reckon most of the anti Potters on here don’t go to many games

De Zerbi in Comparison to Potter. De Zerbi's highs were higher than Potter's. But De Zerbi's lows were significantly lower. Some of the football I've watched in 2024 has been god damn awful.

Reading this board, it's funny how you have to be Team Potter or team De Zerbi. People trying to rewrite history to suit that teams narrative.
