It's not about being shocked though is it. Like it or not the tourist industry is a major part of the worldwide economy now, and i think you'll find that the tourist industry funds conservation projects in all areas of this planet.

If there's nothing left to see, why go and lookk at it.

exactly so we go deeper and deeper into these areas, then were more than likely to get attacked, then i guess we have to kill more animals. Its a vicious cycle really, i dont believe killing the animals is the answer maybe having a better understanding of them is.

Just cant see how people can moan that people get killed by wild animals when were going more and more into there domain so there coming into closer contact with humans, there are going to be conflicts

Just to be a complete pedant, the film Jaws was actually based on real events in America during the 20's if memory serves and the suspected shark was a Bull shark.

Couldn't have been a Bull Shark, H. The one they used in the film(s) was far bigger & a lot more more rubbery innit.

i didnt say it wasnt one shark but every time a shark comes near that area its going to be killed now, i mean how many sharks are they going to gut until they find the one with the body parts in it.

The camp site was still in there natural habitat, when you cook food etc.... ya going to attract wildlife into your area.

I dont see how killing a animal doing what comes natural to it living in its own habitat when people enter it they need to realise there not top dog any more, these animals are killers, they have as much right to be here as we do

So if you saw an animal attacking a child for example you wouldn't step in to help even if it was within your power to save that child's life?

We're talking about a handfull of sharks here, not the wholesale slaughter carried out by the shark fishermen just after their fins.

And the Polar bear camp thing was surrounded by trip wires to alert the camp with loud bangs in the meantime scaring off the bear to avoid confrontation but they failed. Would you have wanted 8 human beings to pay the ultimate price?

i would help the child no doubt about it, would i kill the animal im not sure, i would put my own life on the line to safe the childs line no doubt about it, but i wouldnt happily see a animal be slaughtered for killing me.

It's a shame they can't get hold of the horrible bastards who perpetuate the abomination of an industry which promotes 'finning' - & feed THEM to the Seychelles Bull Sharks.

Without a gun mate there's not alot you could do in a fight with a Polar Bear.

would i have wanted them to pay the ultimate price no, but your missing the point, this is the bears domain not the humans you enter it you have to be prepared for the consequences at the end of the day.

I just dont see how you can moan that these wild animals are killing people when were going into there domain.

And it dont matter if its one shark or 10 thats not the point, not 1 should be killed, were entering there area, there doing what comes natural at the end of the day, people going swimming to see sharks then wonder why they get attacked by them, it baffles me.

I am not saying dont go swimming dont go visiting Norway etc.... but what i am saying is if you go into areas were your on the food chain ya cant moan when you become dinner

When I saw the headline, ''Man killed by rare shark''
I thought , well he should have made sure it was cooked properly then.

well you said that i wouldnt have any chance against a polar bear if it was attacking a child, i asked why a child would be put in that situation in the first place

Ask the parents of Horatio Chapel, aged 17, why he was there.

Someone fishing on here? It's a fact that Bull sharks kill more humans than any other type....here fishy fishy.....

They're certainly in the top three (& probably actually account for many more of the attacks attributed to Great Whites & Tiger Sharks). They're one of the very few species that can go swimmies up fresh water esturies & rivers in search of lunch.

I love Sharks, but they scare the crap out of me.

Then by your logic, not only did he deserve to die, the other 16 people should have stood around and alowed it to happen.

no you do your best to scare it away, by your logic we go into these animals domain, and every time one gets pissed of and attacks us we shoot it, then you be moaning there are nun left, after all they are an endangered species thanks to humans as it is.
