I must say I think the new 3 planet of the apes films are magnificent

Rise of the Planet of the Apes
Dawn of the Planet of the Apes
War for the Planet of the Apes

Actually raising the bar each time and surpassing the previous film which is very unusual

So I am very much looking forward to

Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes

Any other fans and intend to see it ?

I very much agree, although I'm not sure that Kingdom will be of the same quality as Rise, Dawn and War.

The first one is a sci fi classic, the ending with the statue of liberty was an iconic moment in movie history, the others were decent enough but not at the same level. The Tim Burton one was meh

Love the most recent trilogy and will definitely see Kingdom but there's a bit of me that can't help but think they should have left it alone after the trilogy.

Those three films are great and told a complete story. Unless they're planning on striking gold again with a new trilogy. I'd be down for that.

Escape from the Planet of the Apes is oddly closer to the source material ‘Monkey Planet’ than any of the other films, albeit with intelligent Apes being treated as celebrities in a human world rather than the other way around.

Conquest of the Planet of the Apes is also a fantastic allusion to the Watts Riots and other civil uprisings of the late 1960s and 1970s.

The new ones are entertaining, but in a Disney Rollercoaster way as opposed to a day at the Louvre.

Big fan of all the Apes films apart from the Burton one (which is shit) and 'Battle' (5th one) ... where they'd run out of ideas and budget .... In some of the crowd scenes in Battle some of the 'apes' were wearing masks from excess toy shop stock, held on with elastic bands and staples ... Still better than the Burton one

I've probably watched Conquest (forth of the originals) more than any of the other ones so I guess that's my favourite.

Got a lovely 70s Sci Fi feel.

West is BEST
I liked the last ones.

The originals not so much. They descended into sloppy rubbish.

The Tim Burton one was misjudged and laughable.

Our family had a monkey in the late 50’s… My uncle bought it back when in the merchant navy. It used to try and shag the dog.

My Mum (in her 70’s) told me she used to have a thing for Roddy McDowall. But she was also an admirer of Barry Manilow and George Michael (Wham era) so I guess she had a type. She had no clue about any of them!
