What is going on with the Amex pitch? Looked terrible today, Bournemouth players and manager moaning about it also. Not sure why we can’t produce a playing surface of Premier League quality when every other club seem to manage?

Grass appreared longer today and the pitch cut up quite badly as the game progressed.

Another good reason why we definitely don't need to have the women's team also playing at the Amex. The main reason being that women's football is crap, of course.

Heavy rain, I get that....

But it does rain consistently at most PL grounds, more so in most! But pitches seem to stand up to it a lot better than the Amex surface.

From my lofty perch at the front of the West Upper there are clearly 'channels' running the length of the pitch where the pitch was particularly waterlogged. The grass was darker / thinner in these areas, and there was thicker mud as well. Clearly the drainage is struggling in these areas, as the rain isn't draining properly.

The amount of rain we've had recently would've caused the game to be postponed in other times, if we didn't have good drainage. Remember the good old waterlogged pitches?

The farm shop by the stadium (the one where people in fancy cars pay a fortune to own the road and drive at us peasants on foot at the end of each game) have a sign up for potatoes at £12 for a 25kg bag I seem to recall. At those prices we could buy ourselves a decent striker before you know it!
