[Football] The philosophy of Sean Dyche

Deffo.

Like you I'm all about no discipline, presenting the opposition with easy chances every 15 minutes and going down to 10 men when they still refuse to win.
Sorry, how does that compare with what I am saying about what I dislike about his teams and style of play?
Would you honestly prefer the Albion to play that way and become expert in the dark arts?
Out of all the teams, including Palace, it is Burnley I would like to see relegated.
Or have I misunderstood your point somehow?

"I felt the lads's leg just rode around under Joey’s foot, and it was just a natural landing position. I thought there was nothing in it." - Sean Dyche

That's Sean Dyche. Not the media friendly rough diamond persona he has created for himself.

Hmmm . . . l wonder where else he goes in that black mac of his?

As expected the old black mac …complete with arms wide apart, surprised they don’t get stuck in that position, as he spent most of the time like that

Burnley physios must be the fittest in the EPL and must wonder why Burnley players never get injured just in front of them.

You can't really have a go at him - he's done superbly well at Burnley and they did a total JOB on us today. Better in every department. Yes, you can bemoan the physicality and time-wasting, but they know how to use their strengths to their advantage. Wouldn't be at all surprised if they stay up.

“So we destroyed the south coast fannies,
Achieved victory without guile,
We closed down space in every area,
And did it without a smile.

Tackling without care,
Tactics without flair,
If the ball’s in the air they can’t get it,
If it’s in the stands they can fetch it,
Possession only works for fancy pants,
It might look pretty but so does France.

Dribbling is for babies,
Step-overs are for ladies,
Kick, elbow and tackle on the slide,
We need 40 points and then we’re back on the pies.

And remember:

MUD
GRAFT
LARD
SHIT
LIVER
AGGREGATE

And that’s the Burnley way.”

He’s one of the best managers in the league for what he does at Burnley

One of the smallest budgets in the league and always seems to only get one or two in a season

I would like to see him at a bigger club to see how he does.

Respect him for his results. But dislike the hoofing way he gets those results. TBF today they were less direct, and totally deserved their win.

My God, lockdown really did get to him didn't it?

Feeling rather sorry for him there. In fairness, I did resort to childish pranks during Zoom work calls when it was really biting.

I hear Burnley did a looky likey impression of a decent football team today.

Obviously they love him at Burnley but I doubt any other fans in the league would accept that style of football every week. It would never happen luckily but if he took over here, I’d certainly cancel my season ticket.

He’s also a complete hypocrite. He constantly moans about diving yet his team is the worst for it in the league. When teams were cancelling games for covid he said “we’re Burnley, we get on with it” yet he instantly cancelled a few matches when they had a couple of injuries.

They played great yesterday I think, and they were also very good against Liverpool last week, unlucky not to get something there. I thought Weghorst was going to flop hard, but he has looked very good in the overall play so far.

If they keep playing like they have so far in February, I think they have a good chance of staying up. Their midfield is without a doubt one of the worst, if not the worst, in the league but they have great defenders (I wanted GP to bring Connor Roberts with him to Brighton) and good strikers and as long as they dont try to play too much through midfield, they are always going to be difficult to beat. It was obviously a poor performance from Brighton but Burnley definitely deserve some credit as well.

They’ve done a gd bit of business with Wood out (blew hot and cold) and the beanpole in for less…he had a bit of nouse about him

Being interviewed on R5 right now. I have a vision of Pat Butcher in my mind's eye....
