have you not watched football the past few years?

he is not the man to start the next game. only good for last ten minutes if desperate.

Better than Heskey and has a good goal scoring record

We have a side lacking a goal threat, so why not play someone who knows were the back of the net is in international football.

against shit teams like Moldova... hang on, maybe he should have been on last night after all.

there were three other regular goal scorers who failed to produce more than a few attempts between them, Heskey was not the problem last night. but neither is Crouch the answer.

Watched Crouch closely against Mexico at Wembley. Flicked the ball on well but then at 8ft you would expect that. Anything put to him below the shoulders and he was dire, absolute crap. As said on another thread if two of our four strikers are Heskey and Crouch, that says all you need to know about England and our chances. Thats why Gerrard behind Rooney with Cole on the left is the ONLY option. The whole country knows it and a man being paid 6million pound a year does not.

ive watched football for the last few years - and ive seen crouch score copious amount of goals and create copious amounts of chances

on that basis, he deserves a go

on that basis alone Bent should have gone. and are those goals against ManU, Chelsea, Arsenal, or Wigan, Bolton and Stoke?

I don't particularly rate Crouch but our choices are limited as they are throughout the team, never understood this belief that we had a chance of winning this World Cup. We don't excel in a single area of the pitch so getting out of our group is gonna be an achievement. Crouch is more likely to score than Heskey or Rooney in his current mood.

Crouch is the only England forward to score in the last 8 games, he scored 5 times

So why is he on the bench?

There was a stat mentioned recently that none of crouch's goals for england occurred when he came on as sub (may have managed it since then, but it was late last year)

Surely it's better to start him than it is to bring him on and expect something he never provides as a sub?
