Agree. It feels great at the moment but it's a ridiculous decision given what VAR hasn't given this season. Completely ruining the game. I was close and didn't appeal although sure ultimately it was foul. Just ludicrous but wonderful just at the moment.

Well Everton won about a dozen fouls today for being brushed past, expertly finished off with a flourish of a dive. If that’s the benchmark in 2019 for an infringement, then the Connolly incident is clearly a foul. The VAR official had plenty of time in this particular case to judge that a foul had been committed. For better or worse, the game has changed since the days of Horton and Clark getting a ticking off for an assault.

It was a weird one but fair play for var guys giving it that took balls . It was blatantly a foul but would not normally be given in the box.

When it went to VAR, Le Tissier on Sky Sports called a pen about three time. When it was given he just shrugged and said it was an accident, but definite foul / pen.

This for me. Just because it is right in slow motion, it is killing the game for me. Was worried about the overlap on the winner being off. No spontaneous celebration = poorer game for me.

Matt Le Tissier called it before VAR had made their decision. Accidental standing on a player's ankle is still a foul.

I think I was watching the same stream. They had the fan park in Texas. There is one particular angle they showed that clearly showed the stamp. Perhaps the 5 live pundits just assume BHA have no right to beat Everton in the last minute and haven’t bothered to watch all the angles.
I don’t like VAR but if it’s going to be used it can’t just be for the benefit of the ‘big’ clubs.

The way VAR is being implemented in the Prem is a joke but if there is some sort of consistency in the dodgy decisions at least it might be fair ... btw well done to Connelly for going down in a way that meant a decision had to be made. If anyone accidentally treads on your foot in the box .. go down in a heap

He clearly stepped on his foot, I don't think it was intentional, but it happened so it was the correct call.

It was essentially a 'trip', which despite being unintentional still warrants a penalty being given.

Can you highlight the bit you are referring to please.
