The Oscars. Can anybody tell me the point of this annual self-indulgent wankfest? Are these over-paid, over-rated individuals not content with the adulation and the pampered celebrity life style? They need a trophy as well? I mean seriously, an AWARD for acting in a blockbuster to go with the $10m paycheck. And it’s not just the Oscars, they line up at the Golden Globes and BAFTA’s and f*** knows what else as well. Why do they need them all? And then we are somehow supposed to get excited by this? Why so much news coverage? Ooh ooh look at her dress, it cost $100,000 and contains REAL diamonds. Ooh ooh Kate Winslet lost again and CRIED. Ooh ooh Wallace and Grommit, doesn’t it make you PROUD to be British.
Can anyone tell me the point?
