“Now the loan window is closed and we have six loan players already, so we can’t add any numbers until January and we still have a few games before January, it's a shame but that's the way it is and we must deal with it."

Rousing stuff. Well done Sami.

Dickie seems very well named.

As a sports reporter, you may have expected him to know that the rout last year began ten minutes after our Captain joined our player of the season and other first choice centre half on the injury list, his place being taken by a reserve team full back. We may have struggled this year, but we haven't yet fielded a defence as weak as Calderon, Chicksen, Dunk & Ward, we also haven't yet conceded 4 goals to anyone and have only lost by more than one goal in one league game.

A stuffing is possible, but its probably as likely as an away win. The percentage bet would be a tight game with Derby probably edging it. I guess he is either trying to play to his audience's hopes and prejudices or he is just guessing.

Completely agree. Anyone who actually did their research would know what happened in the play offs second leg (ignoring how unlucky we were in the first leg with being denied a penalty and the own goal for their second goal) and would look at our results and see we've only lost by more than one goal once this season in the league (and that was 2-0). I fully expect Derby to win, and they could thrash us, but for their local paper to predict such a heavy defeat for us shows a lot of arrogance. If we needed any motivation to perform at our best tomorrow, that would provide it.

We have just got to practise shooting against the bar and making sure the rebound hits their keeper, and conning their centre half into making a rash challenge.

That and kicking Jamie Ward at every opportunity.

If we can't beat teams like Derby with six players missing, we ought to sign their recruitment coach! Hey that's a good idea. It is Nigel Clough's team!

Alas, the Spurs debacle proved that any club that can dominate us in midfield and its 2-0 declared.

I take it back. Perhaps he knew that our manager was going to go away to the best team in the league with no defensive midfielder. It looks like a desperate gamble on Hyppia's part and that is the last thing we need.
