One of the highlights of this and any other summer, should be a fantastic week of action. As Sarah Stirk would say 'Wowzers'.

Great to see Tiger back, he IS The Open in many ways and the crowds following him in the practice rounds this week have by all accounts been huge.

A couple of outside flutters for me:

Monkey e/w Aaron Rai 80/1
Pony e/w Louis Oosthuizen 75/1
Score e/w Sam Burns 175/1

What's a Royal Troon?

Is it a cape formerly owned by the Habsburgs? Windsors?

Modeled after the noses of the Royals?

Used to love watching it on BBC , remember watching it after school all those years ago , but not watched since coverage switched to Sky
Am giving Sky a whirl this morning but I am not expecting much. There is, as usual, far too much coverage of Tiger hacking it around and far too many adverts.
The BBC highlights last night were ok.

Have to say i agree wholeheartedly with you about Woods. It is almost bordering on cruelty to show a once great player dropping shot after shot. Unfortunate as it may be he is yesterday's man, just show him hitting off the first and putting on the last for goodness sake.
Edit: just watched him miss another tiddler now +13 !

The action is great, the footage is great but the commentary is functional, there is no connection between the viewer and the player, or the viewer and the commentator. All very technical, but not much warmth or personality.
