Impressive for ten players to get out together like that and catch eight or nine of the opposition napping.

I'd be interested to see it again and see if the linesman actually got it right. Not sure if the player who received the ball was offside or not!

yeah, we could have been caught if a player had made a late run from deep and all the other Derby players ran away from the ball while it was in the air making them "inactive", leaving a one on one with onside player and keeper......but it looked great (don't think we would have mastered it in the Gillingham days!)

Our GK coach did or said something that really wound up Clough after that. They squared up!

Gus instructed it from technical area

Clough moaned at the 4th official for the entire match

It was very good but heart in the mouth time as I wasn't convinced the lino would give it as it took him ages to get his flag up so was obviously thinking about it. Only needed one of their players to beat it or one of our players to be a little slow coming out. At that time of the match very dodgy tactic but looked very good.

Thankfully the lino put his flag up before I had time to completely shit myself, a brave bit of defending that made the difference today

There was a moment just before half time when Hughes had just come off after receiving treatment. Clough was throwing his arms at the ref, as if the ref was delaying letting Hughes back on the pitch. By this time, Hughes had gone to the bench (or up the tunnel for further treatment) and the sub was still getting stripped to come on in his place. Clough was effectively complaining that the ref wasn't letting him bring on a sub (who wasn't ready to come on), while the ball was still in play.

a galaxy far far away
What are you all on about? I still don't understand why we didn't stand our ground and compete for the header? 99 times out of 100, that ball comes in and we successfully defend it. If you bugger about trying to play offside anything can happen, eg someone forgets to run out, a Derby player runs from deep or the lino cocks it up. We were very lucky to get away with that and I hope not to see it again. Especially if we're 2-1 up in the 93rd min
