He played at the weekend, I'm sure I heard (RHB) he got a duck, don't know about Gnasher

He's out until the end of May apparently - he had a burst appendix

I've just noticed one statistical oddity about the game: both umpires were born in Sussex. I bet that the most serious statto would struggle to name the last time that happened at a Sussex game

As an incredibly minor and pedantic aside, I have to point out that I hate THIS, on the BBC scorecard:

Sussex won the toss and decided to bat

Surely when one wins the toss, one elects to bat, or at a push, chooses to bat.

Popped down to Hove to sort out Membership and spent an hour or so in the late afternoon sunshine, enjoying Machan and Brown's batting.

Chris Jordan showed up straight off the plane which was v encouraging. Hopefully the ECB will be ok with him playing Sunday. He was chatting to Joyce, who was sat with his wife and baby and they were comparing notes about losing to the Dutch and the hotels in Chittagong. Everyone delighted to see CJ - he seems very popular.

Skittled the students for 93 ao.

Anyon: 5/14
Hatchett: 4/23
Zaidi: 1/15

My team for next Sunday would be: Joyce, Wells, Yardy, Priory, Machan, Zaidi, Brown, Jordan, Magoffin, Anyon, Hatchett

A bit pace bowling heavy but it is April

Any thoughts?

All looking positive for the season ahead.

Great ton from Joyce and an even more impressive one from North Stand regular Matt Machan.
