Just in case anyone doubts quite what a nail biting, edge of the seat, spectacle they are setting themselves up for.
Here is the current record being set:-

I'm sure you'll agree at makes F1 look like paint drying

Hopefully they'll remember to remove the bike stand:-

Anyone care to guess what I'm doing this morning, before going for a ride?

This is epic, the hour record is an unbelievable difficult and dangerous thing.

Wiggo has a lot going for him (bar the air pressure over us at the moment)

It's so big - even I couldn't get a ticket

Will be watching on You Tube - wonder if likes Jens he will have a musical background...

Glanders is going.

He should be easy enough to spot as he's likely to be the only one in the crowd pointing out how slow BW is going.

Point proved.
This event is SO dull that the bloke trying to sell it is reduced to posting crash videos

But you can't keep away!
I've never not said it wasn't dull 'hardly a spectator sport'.

But it is an event, and Sir Bradley of Wigginshire is 'box office'.

Plus crash videos can't do any harm, can they?

Blimey SB, now you've moved onto competing with Ipswich fans for banner writing rights

The boards have hypnotised you

The thing about paint is that it doesn't take an hour to dry.

Really looking forward to this. The other half promised earlier in the week to take on all child looking after responsibilities do I could watch it... but is now denying all knowledge. I've set it to record and will avoid social media and my phone if I don't get to watch it live, so I can watch when the little man is tucked up in bed.

Love the #myhour social aspect of it too! I completed my first strava challenge by doing that!

In what is the nicheiest of niche events, BW will be attempting to break the record for distance covered around the velodrome in one hour, it currently stands at 52.937km and is held by Alex Dowsett.

I'm not going to lie to you, it's hardly a spectator sport.
Although the metronomic way it's ridden can be a little hypnotising.

BW is hoping to 'put the record out of reach' which will hurt like hell.

Some might remember Chris Boardman and Graeme Obree dueling over this record in the 90's.

If anyone wants understand more there's a very good podcast here, that covers the event in it's entirety.

Like watching a barge travel down a canal in real time, quite cathartic.

HIGH (~1,040 mb) pressure in London is unfortunately going to equate to around 1 kilometer less distance, bit annoying!

It's not supposed to be fun. For one hour I get to suffer with Sir Bradley.

Did you watch any of that on BBC4 a few weeks ago.

All it was, was a camera on the front of a Kennet and Avon barge.
Occasionally facts about passing landmarks came towards 'you' in the water.

Completely mesmerising.

Like Sir Wiggo's Desert Island Discs (which was indeed excellent) I heard about this on Radio 4. Really made me want to watch it.

Next time I'm stoned.

Next time I'm stoned.

I was really bizarre, esp on a big screen.
Very much an old skool programme that looked great.
I got an appreciation for the joke news stories about 'the most popular programme in Finland is a log fire'.

Clearly nothing was happening, just water lapping the side of the boat, and bird song.
All it did was make me realise just how irritating TV is, and I loves TV I does.
