By the seaside in West Somerset
Made me laugh when Martin Perry was talking about the stewarding policies for the different areas. The East Stand Family area will be absolutely zero tolerance, so no standy or sweary types in there at all. The North Stand, he suggested, was an area where Albion have traditionally housed their more "enthusiastic" support...

He emphasised that of course standing is not permitted in football grounds, apart from during moments of excitement, but added that the North Stand stewarding policy would take into account that those seated in there are potentially those who tend to get excited a little more "easily", and "more frequently"
:clap2:

You had to be there I suppose, but he was trying not to laugh as he said it

I think there are one or two on here who might have laughed more heartily had it been the club's Health & Safety Officer who had been made to say it :)

The home dressing room, not particularly relevant to the presentation but it's EXCITING and who wants to look at seats all day? Note the presence of the "Hart 15" shirt :jester:

What does he look like? Only there was a bloke there who I thought might have been him but having never met him I wasn't sure.

Nah! He did seem like a pretty good salesman, and I'm sure he'll convince a few people, if only with his enthusiasm (how impressed was I in his absolute conviction that we will sell out this stadium, week after week?) but personally I can't see the benefit justifies the additional cost. Might work for some people though, so each to their own.

Pics, you say?

Well they're not David Bailey quality, only an iPhone 3GS, but they give you some idea of what the presentation is like. It's a 3D computer model so they can take you all around in different directions from different blocks and levels, as well as a few bits from inside the place.

I'm really desperate to be in the upper west, close to halfway, but my presentation is not until Feb 6th....what are my chances?

Hmmm, not sure, I'd have thought so, as you can't be sat across the aisle from the Family zone and shouting "f***" at the top of your voice, can you?

Come on, someone tell me what Lord B's favourite club official looks like, as I have a feeling I may just have spoken to him

Proud owner of East Stand ticket...right on half way line near the back...wow! Can't wait to the first event now! My first visit to the stadium and was impressed by the scale of things.

Thanks Edna for the photos, notice on the upper West it says must be fit cos of five flights of stairs.
Are there no lifts, I was hoping for Upper West, but having a lung problem, I would find it a struggle going up five flights.

There must be surely? Not for everyone, but people in your circumstances should be able to use it. Would be very surprised if the club said no

Hope there is a lift of some kind as my dad is fighting cancer and other illness and uses a walking stick and can only walk a hundred yards and has to stop for 10 minutes. No way will he be able to climb 5 flights of stairs.

And no, we don't want to sit anywhere else. We want to sit in the gods :)

Can anyone answer if when you go you, like today, were all the areas free to chose for you or did they reserve a certain amount in each area so to speak? I only ask this because the clubs view on why they put it in block order for each priority was so each block could remain together if they so wanted. This would fail miserably for those P1 ST's who are going later on in the process not through choice but through the clubs decision. Please understand this isn't really a moan more of an observation.

There are no lifts to the upper West, according to Martin Perry. The reason given was something to do with building regulations relating to disabled access: the stadium has to be evacuated within eight minutes as per safety rules and I guess it would not be compliant if significant numbers of less mobile supporters were seated at the top level (assuming that lifts would be out of service in an emergency).

Piltdown: apart from seats that were for the press, club, 1901 Club or already sold this morning, none of the seats appeared to be blocked off. We just worked out which area of the ground we wanted and picked seats from what was unsold.
