Less a culinary experience, more a game of Operation....lung, heart, kidney and liver
I’m sat opposite one!Veggies will love it!
Yeah that can happen. A favourite restaurant in Florence used to do a 7 course special for €50 and throw in unlimited wine for free. I challenged them to revive it a couple of years ago, and got 7 main courses. Still €50 though.Just had the best day & evening.
First time in Rome, always wanted to come here. We just walked around everywhere all day. Built up a bit of an appetite.
Wanted to do at least one good Roman meal while we were here. Read that means multiple courses but portions are small and served separately - antipasti (starters), primo (e.g. pasta), secondo (meat/fish), contorni (veg), dolce (sweet). All good so far.
Planned restaurant was fully booked but they suggested their sister Osteria.
NO-ONE TOLD US OSTERIAS DO BIGGER PORTIONS
We were joke du jour with all 3 wait staff who were brilliant. One came to us in between every course with the dessert menu and we said "we're not finished yet" every time. By the end they were all trying to get us to have a dessert, but we literally couldn't manage another bite. Absolutely great place, great food, great staff, a great laugh and a great night.
Between the 2 of us over about 3 hours we had decent (and rich!) portions of porchetta di ariccia, prosciutto e buffalo moz, tonnarelli alla gricia, lasagne, trippa alla romana, polpette di bollito alla romana al sugo, carciofi, breads, water, peronis, wine, and a good 3 fingers of amore nazionale. Total bill just €118 (£50 each).
Thank God it was a 2 minute walk (waddle) to our hotel. Dinner tomorrow is an espresso and 2 cantucci!

don't worry, 12 degrees centigrade is expected at the start of the matchThat looks ace. On more practical matters, how chilly is it in the evening? I’ve contemplated the bigger of the coats, for the increased protection from hurled coins.
Let's see, then, how pajata becomes a traditional Roman dish.
