Weird 2nd and 3rd rounds by the Jaguars. We had the 33rd, 45th and 65th picks so a great opportunity to address our glaring needs at safety, edge and o-line, instead they reached for Tyson Campbell, a corner back who would have almost definitely been available at the Jags’ next pick at 45. With CJ Henderson (2020 9th overall pick) and Shaquill Griffin (our biggest FA signing) already on the roster, and Sidney Jones and Tre Herndon as depth this was seemingly a completely unnecessary pick, Campbell wasn’t even the most highly rated CB left on the board.
With the 45th pick they took a LT who’s managed 1 game in 2 years and a safety who’s recovering from a torn ACL.
Pre draft Urban Meyer said he wanted to add 4 or 5 immediate starters, but so far it seems they’ve picked 1 (Lawrence), plus a RB (Etienne) who will split carries with James Robinson and then 3 back ups. Odd, and quite disappointing.
