Isn't that called being pissed?
People always say this, and I've yet to find a pub that charges. NSC best pub winner the Battle of Trafalgar wasn't even busy.

You realise that your best days are behind you when....
1) You switch off the lights for economic rather than romantic reasons.
2) You don't fancy any women in the same age bracket as you.
3) You regularly say to yourself...' now what did I come in here for '
4) You can't remember when you managed to sit through a complete film ( awake )
5) When getting out of a car isn't a natural easy action but more a laboured, leg swinging exercise.
6 ) When you worry that bending down is a risk and you might not straighten up again.
7) When you've lost enough of your peer group to think...' shit, who's next '
8) When you realise that approx 75% of your expected life span is behind you.
9) When a world mega-star is introduced on a programme like X Factor and you go...' WHO!!! '
10 ) When you remember being told that there are three key indicators to getting old. The first being loss of memory but you can't remember the other two.

Thanks £1.99 I'm afraid your thoughts are correct I'm afraid to say, just one of lifes hurdles we need to get over.
But for all that have read this post and are in the same boat with getting up alot at night for a waz, get it checked out.
Two of the pubs that I frequent were charging admission. There were probably others that weren't but I coudn't be arsed frankly. Had a lovely evening in with Mr Laphroaig.
