The official Direct Debit wrong amount thread

As suspected, too much has been debited from my account, looks like they have charged a full child price for an under 10.

This could of so been avoided if they wrote to everybody telling us what the new amounts would be

I think they might be legally obliged to write and tell you of the amount to be charged, before taking the DD. Certainly if you look at the direct debit terms and conditions on the Albion website, the club undertake to notify in advance in writing.
So you've got good cause for complaint, and some redress I would imagine.

I havent checked but was told by my bank that the DD was set as final payment for 1st March and has been stopped

Just checked the bank and indeed they have cocked up . My boy (an under 10) has been charged as an under 18 . Pissed off because when i spoke to the club on the phone after the renewal letter arrived (with wrong info on it) they assured me that he would still be an under 10 for the season . A visit to the club today i think !!

i cancelled mine (moving country so cant have a ST anymore). last years DD disappered off my account with the last payment, however last night a new DD with the albion was set up but no money taken. so i'm a tad confused.

My under 10 is in sw corner, have been charged £19.24 not the £10.42 as it should of been

With a DD you have lots of legal rights. The first of these being that the collector must inform you of any amounts being collected in advance of doing so. If they collect the wrong amount or not inform you then you can go to the bank. Have a look at the bit of paper you get with all DD's that you are meant to tear off and keep.

Just for the record I have been charged under 10 when my son should now be U18 so mistakes can happen both ways.
