The match is on Sky Sports Mix, which is excellent news for me, and anyone who has this as part of their package - I don't siubscribe to Sky Sports, but have this channel on Virgin Media.

Channel 520 for me.

I reckon he might. Best player in the pitch when he came on the other day.

Yes, it does look as if we have unearthed a gem, to coin a phrase, though he has been "cultivated" for a few years now and his progress comes as no surprise. I just hope that Potter and Co can keep his feet firmly on the ground, and he is amenable to advice, so that he is able to cope with the huge (deserved) sudden surge in publicity and praise. Not all players so young can cope with this.

I reckon he might. Best player in the pitch when he came on the other day.

Asked at his pre-match press conference at the Stade de Geneva if it would be a gamble to start [Connolly] against the Swiss, McCarthy said: "Well, that's the question, isn't it?

"Asking me would I risk him, there's some suggestion that there is. I don't think there is.

"He's now made his debut. He had a cameo and did well in it and I think he will be feeling comfortable about himself, so no, I don't think it would be a risk at all to start him."

Thanks for pointing that out. I don't have SkySports but get SkySportsMix on my basic package. I thought I was going to have to watch it on a stream.

Surprised that McCarthy picked both Connolly and Collins - I would have thought if he was picking Connolly as a striker it would have been instead of Collins.

Here is hoping he bags a couple of goals in an Irish win - even better - both of them get a couple of goals in a comfortable Irish win.
