Ok, so it's one big stage and I confess that I'm just a tad excited, but... can someone just remind me again of what it was Nibali said about Wiggins and Evans this morning :lolol:

Balls out from the very first meaningful stage of this Tour. Get in there ! This could be a classic

This could be a walkover more like it. The peleton just had it's collective ass handed to it by Sky. Evans is going to have to time trial like he never has before to even come close to Wiggins.

Froome was outstanding and won easily. He will be the second British rider to win the Tour de France.

I might be getting carried away but if you cannot enjoy days like this then you will never be happy.

Anyone wanting to ride today's climbs.
Head over to Whiteways, Arundel.

There's 4 different ways up there, all are around the gradients and distance of the last 5-6 kms.

I'm with you P.
As said this time on Monday BW could be so far in the lead it will be defensive all the way, just marking Cadel.

Don't write off Rolland.
This stage was never going to suit him.
He's no mug on a time trial, and with 'proper' mountains to come he may well be able to crawl up onto the podium.

Well said!

Evans won't giving it up lightly though. A two man battle will be classic enough for me given the significance of it for us. British cycling is in such rude health it's almost embarrassing, especially when considering where we've come from. Very exciting times!

Great stage.

Am I right in thinking that without his puncture earlier this week Froom would be in Yellow?

A proper climber in Polka Dots!

Lost in the moment of all things Sky.

I was loving Van Den Broeck, after his mechanical.
Smashing past all those riders rockin n rollin in their saddles, like they were fat club riders.
