we did have an excellent trading set up on the board in 2006 - although with the demise of Woolworths where on earth will be a reliable stockist of the packs - WH Smiths may be one (and yes being a wage earner means we are within our rights to buy at least 20 packs a shot)

I collected the Euro 2008 stickers last year but fell about 40 short of completing my album. The number of times Kevin Kuranyi kept cropping up with his silly goaty beard pissed me right off.Call me cynical but i don't think they make one or two of the stickers!

There is something quite furtive and naughty about buying them though.Buying a copy of Razzle feels less embarrassing.

Another football sticker disciple here.
First sticker album was the European Championships 1980, manager of the Czech team at that time was a one Josef Venglos who later went on to manage Aston Villa.
Never completed it and same story for the many that were to follow, however did manage to finish one domestic album one year and remember the Shrewsbury badge being the last to get after weeks of stress trying to obtain it.
A good cover story when purchasing stickers at your friendly newsagent is that they are for a birthday present for the nephew, however newsagent gets a bit suspect when the nephew has weekly birthdays so buy in bulk. Also best to keep this little hobby on the quiet though as it doesnt quite impress the ladies and mates taking serious piss if found out.

Thanks Greens :(
Also does anyone know on average how much it will cost to fill up the book buying a average 5 pack of stickers.

There's usually about 596 stickers per book, or roughly 100 packs @ 6 per pack, but with the duplicates inherent in this set-up, a large trade network will be the best/only way to fly

The equivalent of dozens of pints of decent beer.

I only did this once - the 1970 World Cup. Completed the book and then my mum threw it away when she cleared out the loft - through away my 69/70 and 70/71 albums too.

Did she know how much I had to sweat to get those?

In primary school the teachers were sad enough to ban us from bringing them in. One kid finished his album and brang like 600 swaps in. After then the teachers banned them so it was really hard to swap. (We did find ways though)

I don't like the fact that once you have about 100 left about 9/10 of your cards would be swaps.

I got back into this 4 years ago under the pretence of "doing for my son". I'll certainly be collecting this summer. Let the trades begin .....

I've never collected stickers before :deprivedchild: , so I'm in, although I doubt there will be many NSC'ers willing to trade swapsies in Wolverhampton.
