I've talked Skybet into giving me odds on David Veilleux.
The book did go to 300/1 without him, they've put him in at 200/1, gits.

Anyhoo small wagers on Feillu Taaramae and now Veilleux.

So basically I'm going for the break staying away.

I just can't see Roman hanging onto the tails of the mountain goats.

If it's a wet day like they forecast, it could nullify any real attack by the GC riders.

CHRIS Froome has called for the descent off Alpe d'Huez to be neutralised amid predictions of horrendous weather in Thursday night's queen stage of the Tour de France.

If that's the weather forecast you'd think the winner will be someone who's a bit mental and risks a dangerous fast descent.

Actually, thinking on about Kreuziger, didn't Saxo struggle a bit with World Tour points last season and nearly not make the final selection for this season? I expect Contador being back and a stronger team now mean they'll not struggle for points so much now, but even so, Kreuziger will be pleased with a podium spot and the team won't argue with the points gained I suppose?

Must admit I'm not very clued up on the World Tour points system but know it has influenced a lot of riders to play safe for points rather than gamble for higher positions recently.

No odds up for Veilleux on WH. This often happens :(

Think I'm a day early with my bet for today, but oh well, I'll try again tomorrow.

I have a feeling Contador's going to do something VERY special today. If Saxo and Movistar can break Sky on the first ascent and get Froome isolated it'll be epic!
It will be,.. but I think Froome is big enough to handle it even if his team fragment,.... we saw that when he temporarily went away from Wiggens last year,.... he can do the lone ranger bit if he wants..... big day for sure.

Day off sat indoors in the cool paying off already as I have a Eurosport stream live now, a full hour and half before ITV4 comes on air. Will get to see the days break trying to form live now :)

There were whispers that Wiggins might be a target of OGE.

Wouldn't Porte be a better fit? GC potential, Australian, starts every sentence with 'ah, look' - he should fit right in. I can't see Wiggins being a serious GC contender in Grand Tours again.

Saxo making their intentions clear right from the off. This is going to be superb. Cadel up for salvaging something from this Tour too. Game on!

Anyway, I'll stop for now. Getting a bit carried away here.

Sky in bits already. Where are they all?

I think it's more Wiggins would be more obtainable. Porte i'd assume would be locked up for a good few years by Sky knowing that they have an excellent #2 rider behind Froome.

Looks a bit better now, the group up front looks pretty decent, though I expect they will fall apart pretty quickly on the Alpe.

Yep, result for Sky to finally have a decent break form. Strong too, but I agree, doubt it will last all day.

I think that looks a bit of a desperate move from Saxo.

I can't see Roche having to much in the tank, when the time comes.

Was it Monfort that did that job brilliantly for Andy Schleck a few years ago?

Roche and Paulinho stuck in no mans land. They should sit up and wait for the bunch, if they carry on they will be too tired to help Contador anyway.

TJVG going for it from 60km out. Unlikely, but I love this kind of break.
