Can I just say, I am LOVING this Tory demise. By far the worst of the worst when it comes to how low politics can get, the last nearly 10 years have been horrendous and at times, I've been embarrassed to be British, when I'm usually very proud. But the tide is turning, and it's coming back to me, and fast. Thank GOD our electorate are waking up and smelling the coffee. We need a centrist party, not a right or left, to steady the ship. Labour are that. I will still be voting Green as Climate Change is our biggest threat to humanity, I strongly believe that, plus it's either them or Labour, here in Brighton. I wish I could do more to be better for the cause, but without radical change, and with my job and lifestyle, it's very difficult. Eating fine, but travel is the hardest. Politicians need to push for radical change and educate the masses more than we already are. Anyway, off topic there. The sooner that bunch of scum are out, the better. Imagine ridiculing the poor, needy and sick, cutting and stripping our services like healthcare and benefits for the disabled, penalising homelessness, LIEING about green targets and LIEING about many many other things, and whilst we at it, those who are coming here for a better life, it's been disgusting. GOOD RIDDANCE.
A simple “like” seems churlish for this top post.

Look at the turnout from different wards.

He will win (just) but is in trouble.
I had a bit of a sleepless night after looking at that! It's almost impossible to imagine a worse London Mayor than Susan Hall - and what a huge boost it would be to the Tory right wing head-bangers if she won. Plus all the Islamaphobic rhetoric would be ramped up to the next level. I love London, and the prospect of someone like Susan Hall being Mayor of the greatest city in the country (excl Brighton & Hove, obvs) is - frankly - enough to keep you awake at night!

I have to say it gave me a sleepless night too, the thought of even more London Wankers moving to Brighton to get away fills me with terror.

There are some indies in Portslade and some in Whitehawk. The East and the West Indies

I've long been a supporter on banning party politicians standing for local government. Only true independents should be allowed to stand - and I don't mean Bridget Fishleigh and her "we're independents but have formed a party anyway" mob.

First two areas to declare in London have shown a strong win for Labour. Khan has won this convincingly by the looks of it

I’d love to know why the running of essentials non essential services within budget needs to be political and associated with the respective parties, can anyone explain why?

London hasn’t had a decent Mayor since Dick Whittington. He bequeathed his fortune to form the Charity of Sir Richard Whittington which, nearly 600 years later, continues to assist people in need.

I think that most of the wild speculation about the London election can be explained by journalists thinking that "Sadiq Khan Comfortably Wins Election That Everybody Predicted He'd Win" isn't interesting or clickbaity enough.
There was also a bit of panic in Labour circles regarding the low turn out and the effect of first past the post. Looking unfounded.

What a nasty campaign by Susan Hall and I'm glad London has rejected her.

Warrington pretty disastrous for the Tories, holding into 1 seat from their previous 10.

Only reason I mention it, is that I lived there for a while and there are strong pockets of Tory support.

Tories will be selling this as a success, as they were predicted to lose 500 seats.

The Liberal Democrats now have 520 councillors, and the Conservatives have 508. It is now clear to us with just the one council to go that the Liberal Democrats will end up having won more council seats than the Conservatives in these local elections.
