Newhaven 3 Crowborough 2

Crowborough looked the better side in the first half and I didn’t expect Newhaven to get anything out of this match.
Second half started and still no goals but Crowborough still looking stronger, it was only a matter of time before they scored and their opener came on 50 minutes.
Newhaven made a few changes and scored 2 goals on 75 and 79 minutes, it was all Newhaven until the visitors had one attack and equalised on 85 minutes.
Newhaven kept going and scored the winner on 90 + 2 minutes.

And I saw this puppy 😍

Well the battle of Horsham, YMCA v. our "friends" from Roffey brought an inconclusive result, 1-1.

Roffer started like a train, scored an early goal, and YM had a lot of touble trying to contain them. Slowly though we managed to grow into the game and equalised towards the end of the first half.

The second period looked like producing just one winner, YM got on top, were award a penalty, which we duly . . . missed. Other chances came and went, so 1-1 it was.

Just time after the final whistle, for the usual shenanigans between the two clubs, pushing and shoving, handbags really, one member of the YM b ench was booked.

Weird that Southends match at Fylde was postponed after their train at Euston was cancelled...

Not heard anything like this before, shirley a coach of the wheeled variety the way forward
Man Utd are often pictured waiting for trains to London as it is much quicker. Only difference is that they travel down the day before and stay in a fancy hotel which Southend can’t afford to do.

ground number 42: Bosham Recreation Ground home of Bosham for their SCFL Division 2 clash with Upper Beeding.

So at the beginning of the week I was at the furthest east ground on my list and I finished off on saturday with the furthest west. Bosham really is close to the Hampshire border and I heard a lot of people talking about the "Pompey game".

A charming little seaside village, started off with a very good pint of Guinness by the shore before heading to the game.

Fairly typical Division 2 ground really, it's basically a Rec and fans are housed on one side of the ground with a fence along the touchline. There is a small covered area outside the clubhouse, providing a small amount of shelter if needed.

The clubhouse is actually pretty decent and seems to have been refurbed fairly recently. It's more spacious than you'd imagine and has a screen, dartboard etc and plenty of pictures on the walls. Surprising.

Upper Beeding were the better side throughout really and won 2-1 which flattered the home side to be honest.

I now have 15 grounds left to do in 4 months

Yep and it's often South Lodge, a really swanky establishment just up the hill from me in Lower Beeding, many an Ellisons or Kings Ferry coach full of multi million pound Premier League footballers, have l seen pulling out of the drive on a Saturday morning.

Love the ferry in the background and obviously spot the dog! I thought they were going to develop that area is it still on the cards?

Was at Arsenal so can't comment on the game but sounds very similar to how we've been playing of late. Pretty well but getting nothing out of games. It's pretty much the same team as last year with two very noticeable exceptions. Guess the small margin of two quality players is the difference between challenging at the top and the bottom.

Chance for revenge tomorrow in the cup. Then Horsham YMCA on Saturday.

Plenty going on over the other side of the river, new flats etc and plans for a high rise block.
There was plans to build along the river on the West side but not sure if that will go ahead.

And seeing you again pretty soon too, as we meet for a third time this season shortly, this time in the RUR cup!
