I’ll give him credit the pitch looked fine at KO, but about 15 mins in you could see it seriously cut up. Was the refs call, and tbf I know the ref and he’s not the sort to get it on to collect his fee. I think when Toby Bull fell over a third time it was time to end it. Enjoyed the 45 minutes of chaos we did have though, proper football. Some bloke next to me saying this would have been fine in the 70s did make me laugh.Surprised it went ahead tbh. Not sure how the ref deemed it playable but the cynic in me thinks either the club wanted the gate money or he wanted to get paid.
I think the fella next to you had a point, I was still kicking about the heavy leather wet ball back then and you could slide from the centre circle to the side line, fun and entertaining. I do feel clubs should just let let football go ahead unless ducks are present. Crawley apparently called their match off 15 minutes before KO. Fans were not happy.I’ll give him credit the pitch looked fine at KO, but about 15 mins in you could see it seriously cut up. I’ll tell you what that 45 minutes of chaos that they played was great funI think the fella next to you had a point, I was still kicking about the heavy leather wet ball back then and you could slide from the centre circle to the side line, fun and entertaining. I saw it had been abandoned. It really wasn't a shock. The pitch there is a mire in winter.Surprised it went ahead tbh. Not sure how the ref deemed it playable but the cynic in me thinks either the club wanted the gate money or he wanted to get paid.
Corrected for youI think the fella next to you had a point, I was still kicking about the heavy leather wet ball back then and you could slide from the centre circle to the side line, fun and entertaining. I do feel clubs should just let let football go ahead unless ducks are present. Crawley apparently called their match off 15 minutes before KO. Fans were very, very happy.
I was quite comfy with my roof thank youMain disappointment from the HT abandonment is that the home fans didn't get the chance to take their turn exposed to the elements.
Yeah I got the impression most Hawks intended to stay in the Din for the 2nd halfI was quite comfy with my roof thank you
Decent attendance. Kent are up for their non league football. Noticed 2500 at Margate over Xmas and that’s in the Isthmian South East.Went to Folkestone V Hastings where the heavens opened at 2.45 and made the pitch unplayable . Not though in the view of the referee that allowed the match to proceed and continue for the full duration . Folkestone took the lead after just 20 seconds despite the visitors taking the kick off and it was pretty much one traffic up until half time where the score was 3-0 , ending up 3-1 . Decent ground with fortunately enough cover for the 781 in attendance .

…..or he wanted to get paid.
Got no idea how it works just can’t believe he genuinely thought that pitch was playable. He would of/have still been paid
That’s a shame. They seem to have done a pretty good job in recent years, though the current season has been disappointing. Any rumours on a replacement?Newhaven joint managers have resigned.

They definitely have done a good job and will be missed, probably a difficult season with so many players coming in and out. That’s a shame. They seem to have done a pretty good job in recent years, though the current season has been disappointing. Any rumours on a replacement?
I was planning on heading up the other endYeah I got the impression most Hawks intended to stay in the Din for the 2nd half
Maybe the recently ex Haywards Heath manager would be a contenderThey definitely have done a good job and will be missed, probably a difficult season with so many players coming in and out.
Haven’t heard anything about a replacement.
