A superb facility at Burscough to watch Skelmersdale United. The wonders of 3G! The quality of football was not great as bottom side Skem went down 1-0 to 3rd bottom Longridge Town. I think most SCFL sides would give them a good game. Ground Number 269 ticked off and its got everything I want from a ground, a great bar and an even better view of the railway line.

Talking of last night another great game was played in Horsham, namely YM'a local derby with Roffey in the semi-final of the Sussex RUR Cup at Gorings Mead, the home side coming out on top in an exciting 3-0 victory played in appalling conditions!

Really proud of the lads, it's been an "meh" season thus far, but when we really needed them to put in a performance they came up trumps. Really looking forward to going to Lancing for the final in March.

Every time I open this thread I'm always in awe of the non-league scene in England and how much I miss it. There's just nowhere else in the world that compares.

Sorry for the delay but I visited Chichester City's Oaklands Park for their Isthmian League South East clash with Beckenham Town on Saturday.

Whilst it was still freezing cold, it was a lovely day. I got the train and took in a couple of fine Chichester watering holes on the way.

The ground is located just to the north of the city centre close to the Festival Theatre, University and Hospital.

I don't want to be too harsh but I wasn't overly keen on this ground. I'll start with saying that the staff and volunteers were exclusively lovely.

Facilities wise it's quite good and probably slightly above average for this level. There is a decent sized seated stand with, get this, PADDED SEATS on the far side. Both sides also have covered standing areas and there's a covered area behind the south goal. This end also has quite randomly placed fold down seats. They recently installed a 3G pitch which allowed this game to go ahead amidst postponements all over the county.

My issue is that you could easily have no idea that this could be ANYONE'S ground. Where are the green seats?! I'm not even sure the ground is THAT new but it doesn't feel particularly worn in yet.

I then went to the clubhouse which feels like an office block in a small town industrial estate. The bar is upstairs and fairly big but is quite dull. Very little on the walls (pictures etc) and it's hard to tell that it's a football clubhouse. Very disappointing lack of drinks on tap with I think Peroni and Coors on tap and NOTHING else.

Attendance was 286. You get a few local lads, students from the uni and the visitors brought a few with them.

Admission was £10. No programmes available I'm afraid.

Here's the good news, Bovril was a mere £1. The cheapest thus far.

In summary Oaklands Park is...ok. I think they could really do with DECORATING it a bit. Get it green and white everywhere, pictures on the walls in the clubhouse etc.

Corinthians (near brands hatch) have a Tesco one...or at least they did last time I was there. Crazy given the amount of money they've spent on the rest of the complex. Does work quite well though albeit small.

Lewes beat Margate 4-2. Three of the Lewes goals and one of the Margate were very good, and it was mostly an easy win, though the two Margate goals caused a bit of panic.

Ollie Pearce is on some run of form for Worthing. 13 goals and 5 assists in 9 games.

They’re up to second now, no chance of catching Yeovil but 2nd or 3rd is a huge boost for the play-offs.

He scored again today in a 1-0 win away to Tonbridge.

He’s scored more goals since the start of December than anybody else in that league has managed all season. Ridiculous.

A 4-2 win over Torquay, 2 goals for ex-Albion youth player Danny Cashman, and yep you’ve guessed it - Ollie Pearce with another goal.

What’s the crowd split like when Hashtag come to town? The fact that they’re a YouTube team presumably means their fanbase are spread across the entire country pretty evenly.

I’ve anLeah’s assumed there’s quite a strong Hashtag contingent at their away games, you might not go every week if you’re local but every Hashtag fan near near Hastings must have considered going along today. They’re probably the only team who should get better support away from home in theory!
