I didn't make it. Was tempted but had assumed it pay off changes had gone after the Herne Bay game.
Need Cray to lose vs either of Haringey or Kinstonian which is unlikely but not impossible. I'm still a tentative maybe for Canvey for the above reason.

Went to a terrific game at Holyport which saw them defeat Reading City 3-2. Every weather possible in the second half with a quagmire of a pitch, proper football. The two pictures are within 5 mins of each other.

Then at 3pm I saw the big game in Maidenhead as Torquay United scrap for relegation. 3-1 winners for the Gulls to drag them to two points from safety. Frank Nouble with the pick of the goals with a 30 yard chip. Huge end of the season. Maidenheads toilet has magical powers as I have now witnessed three goals from within the doorway, it’s not coincidental, it’s a science.

A bargain £3 for Eastleigh v Gateshead tonight which resulted in 7 goals, that’s 42p a goal, talk about value for money. The 48 (Heed Count) supporters who made the trip down from the north east certainly we’re rewarded with a 5-2 victory to all but seal safety. Cracking game of football.

Reading City? 🤔
Yes they play in a small stadium up by the festival site, they used to be called Highmoor Ibis but changed their name a few years back. I thought there was an FA rule that meant you could not be called ”City” unless you are officially a city, and my understanding it reading is not. Play in the combined counties premier division North.

Guildford isn’t a city but the football team is called Guildford City, maybe there isn’t a rule.

Quite sad what's happened to the old girl. Clearly the Albion were spending a lot of money on the upkeep of it as it's continually gone downhill since we left

Perhaps the Albion could take ownership of it, do it up and move the womens and u23's in there? Anyone know how much it's actually used for athletics events?

A lot of the senior schools in the city seem to have their sports day there.

This is an interesting book for non-league enthusiasts.
Originally published in 1995 , it's a great read for those who have a passion for the quirky and less salubrious arenas where our national game is played.
