For Bexhill former Albion u23 skipper Tom Vickers started at No.9 in place of top scorer Evan Archibald and bagged a hatrick .

Final Score Bexhill United 6 Loxwood 0 , attendance 135

The visitor commendably continued to attempt to build from the back despite being 4 nil down after 26 mins and stuck to their game plan diligently

Game 184 of the season done at New Salamis on Sunday, in a 1-0 win over Witham Town, Ground Number 244. Got 10 games in 9 days coming up from Tuesday.

Bournemouth v Brighton on Tuesday before taking in the Middlesex Senior Cup final at Bedfont Sports on Wednesday between Rayners Lane and British Airways, with a superb curry from the Duke of Wellington Opposite. On Thursday its international womens duty at Wembley for the Finalissma between England and Brazil, should be a good spectacle for Women's football. Friday I have been requested to join my colleague at Bradford Park Avenue v Southport so will be heading up to Yorkshire for that. Following on from that I've got Brighton duty again against Spurs and the U21s are playing at the training ground on Easter Sunday so I can get some pre easter lunch action in. Monday is a double header, firstly going to Holyport v Reading City in a combined counties 11:30 am kick off, before darting across Maidenhead to see Torquay try and cling onto the faint hope of survival against Maidenhead at 3pm. The yellows have gone about reducing the deficit to safety from 9 points to 3 in the last two games with back to back wins. Tuesday is quite possibly a trip up to Worthing United but I will have a look at the other options. Finally hopefully I'll have a trip to Midhurst and Easebourne on Wednesday as they desperately try to catch up on fixtures. Then I'm seeing Big Thief on Thursday at Chalk, so that should be a nice busy few weeks.

With the greatest respect to both, l'm amazed that teams like Rayners Lane and British Airways make it to the Final of the Middlesex Senior Cup these days.

As some on here will know, l was born and raised in Staines, and cut my football supporting teeth, supporting Staines Town back in t e late 1960's.

Then in then Spartan League, but promoted into the Athenian set up in the early 70's, and quickly fast tracked into the Isthmian, whewre they spent many successful seasons, even spending a couple of years in the then Conference, where they achieved a couple of Football League scalps.

During that time they had a fair amount of success in the County Cup too, where heavyweights like Hillingdon, Hayes, Harrow Borough, and even on occasion Staines, would contest the final. I can't recall where the final was regularly held now, it may well have been Griffin Park, but in any event it certainly wasn't at Bedfont Sports, a club that didn't even exist back in those days.

Sadly of course the mighty Staines Town are no more, killed off by a charlatan and a chancer called Joe Dixon. Plenty about his exploits online if anyone cares to look.

Anyway l made a trip back in time to Wheatsheaf Park just a few weeks ago, it looked like the Marie Celeste peering through the locked gates, the main stand and dressing room block were still there, goalposts, (and nets), still erected. the only thing out of place being the length of the grass.

Sad days, R.I.P Swans.

Heading to Woodside Road later for Worthing v Concord Rangers - who are bottom of NLS. Worthing have recently fallen out of the play off positions as teams have caught up with their games in hand ... so can't afford to mess this one up! Hopefully a decent crowd!

Didn’t know the sad tale of Staines Town, shocking. I grew up watching Wealdstone - another club let down by poor owners.

I used to watch Ruislip Manor in the Athenian League - who luckily wore the same kit as Fulham so I didn't have to buy a new scarf.

They have indeed ... surpassed all expectations.

And the number of goals in their games ... I've been to Woodside Road 16 times this season and seen 68 goals ... and that was after a slow start with a 0-0 and two 1-1's in the first 3 NLS games I went to!! Great entertainment!

A match has been switched to Steyning on Easter Saturday - 5.30pm. It's Lingfield v Steyning but on the 3G at Steyning. Directions and Parking here. Not sure about admittance prices - that will depend on Lingfield. Also an 11am ko on Monday sees Hassocks at Steyning. Busy weekend.

A busy Easter weekend awaits for all SCFL clubs, at Horsham YMCA we welcome Little Common to Gorings Mead tomorrow, 3pm ko, then on Monday travel up the road to Roffey for a local derby at 11am.

Broadbridge Heath need 3 wins from 4 to guarantee the SCFL PREM but if they win next two and other results go there way over Easter could be done on Monday. Nervy start at Woodside Road with Harrison Male having to make a couple of decent saves for Worthing … but 3-0 to Worthing at HT including a retaken pen for encroachment. Worthing up to 7th as things stand - which is the last play off spot.

FINAL SCORE: 7 nil to Worthing. An 8th would have taken them up a place … they came close!!

Wrexham drop to 2nd on goal difference, but with a game in hand. Wrexham v Notts County on Sunday, could be the title decider. Part of me wants Wrexham to fail, trying to buy the league.
