Lewes went 2-0 after 11 minutes, both scored by Joe Taylor. Then decided to try and score a wondergoal and looked like we would thrash Brightlingsea. Sadly they're a decent team with a good number 9 and we can't defend. Finished 2-2.
Chris Powell was present, watching Ollie Tanner, I don't think he'll be too impressed

Finished 1.1 at Woodside between Worthing and Hornchurch.
Fair result in a game where clear chances were few and fair between and both defences were on top.
Jasper gave Worthing the lead with a fine goal on 57 but as the game wore on Worthing dropped deeper and deeper and were punished in the 92nd minute as they failed to clear a free kick and the Waight volleyed home.

I was there for this one. First half hour wasn't great until Worthing had a few chances including Ollie Pearce (the goal and penalty machine) heading just past the post.

I ended up just behind the goal near the exit as the clock ticked down so had a good view of Hornchurch's late equaliser... which resulted in a mouthy Hornchurch fan jumping over the barrier onto the field of play and getting into the player celebrations! To calls of "get off the pitch you c***" he jumped back across exactly where I was standing and knocking me out of the way breathing beer fumes all over me!!

This entering the field of play really does seem to be catching - whether it's Premier League or the 7th tier of English football!!

Can I add ... it was flipping freezing!!

Yeah very poor for the Rooks to drop points from 2 nil up. Excellent spectacle though. Very happy the Rebels couldn't capitalise on it.

A bit of a sucker punch for Worthing today. A tense game with a well organised Hornchurch stifled Worthing’s efforts in the first half. A better second half, a cracking opening goal, but never really that comfortable for the Rebels, an injury time equaliser was probably what Hornchurch just about deserved. 1300 in attendance, great to meet up with some fellow BHA fans and meet a few new faces.

The Avenue then Maloncho
First new ground for me in ages. Bexhill v Peacehaven. Nothing like what I expected, I had seen pictures of “that stand” but sadly in real life it’s tired and in need of repair, I was also surprised to see the other three sides are just a fenced off bit of the park.

Bexhill won 1-0 with a late goal, I don’t think Peacehaven had a shot on target and during the second half it was all Bexhill, this was one of those where we were lucky to get nil.

Bexhill had someone sent off and one of the coaches got booked for running across the pitch to try and get involved in a bit of hand bags in injury time.

A guess at the crowd was about 150, a few Bexhill fans got a bit vocal in the second half but the cold weather meant the travelling army (of about 15) didn’t beak into song till about the 87th minute.

Nice little bar with friendly staff and Atlantic Pale Ale on draught.

Worth a visit

1300 at Worthing, 1000 at Lewes, 1500 at Hastings no doubt helped by Albion not playing. 79 at Three Bridges.not helped by Crawley Town playing!

According to the Athletic Spurs have bid for Lewes' Ollie Tanner and wouldn't loan him back. He would prefer the Albion apparently.
They do provide an explanation of why he's been so poor in the last two games though
"Tanner has been training with the North London giants for the past fortnight"

Littlehampton
Went to Broadbridge Heath vs Littlehampton this weekend finished 1-2, littlehampton poor the first half but stepped it up second half as you would expect from the league leaders. You can see they are missing Joe Benn at the moment up top

I was at that one, too. LIttlehampton will be very pleased to get the win as there was nothing in the game, really. They are certainly feeling the strain of having played so many fixtures lately and, obviously, having to cope without Joe.

Gaskin’s first goal was a beauty, his second….well, let’s just say the keeper will be hoping no one caught it on camera. We’ve got Pagham and Saltdean, both at home, in the next few days. Find a way to win those two and it will be hard to see anyone stopping The Marigolds from winning the league this season.

Hastings
I'm just back from there myself, my 4th visit of the season. Another big crowd of 1502 saw the visitors win the Sussex derby 3-2. The Burgess Hill keeper pulled didn't half pull some worldies out the bag second half, though his timewasting let him down. Took the ref long enough to book him for that as well.

With Ashford winning at Herne Bay Hastings lead at the top is back to 4 points and the top 2 meet next week in Kent. Huge game that now.

Keeper was fantastic, the Lancing keeper on New Years Day also had a cracking game, including a saved penalty, but fortunately on this occasion Hastings nicked the win.
Learnt after the game the keeper is on loan from the Albion and also from Hastings, Tommy Reid, for such a young lad, he took the banter well. :clap2:
Don't think I can make the Ashford game, about time they beat them in the league!
