Good lad. It should be a good game.

To be fair it'll be a bit one sided, EP have have a really tough season and things don't look like changing any time soon, but yes, it'll be a good game.,

As has already been mentioned, plans are in place to eventually dig up the grass bank on the dugout side of the ground, put in a new stand with seating to meet ground grading for National South. Think they have a long term plan to put roof cover around most of the ground to link up with the two covered ends behind each goals as well.

I like the sound of this

wondering if they could get another turnstile in somewhere as well on the west side of the ground, but the only place I could think of was through the bowls club and in behind the main stand

Just thinking if the north east turnstile was to become the away turnstile, turning that corner into an away end, it would mean ALL home fans entering on the east side of the ground and then filtering round

got family in Darlo but unfortunately have not been to see them at their new ground. Went to Feethams and the infamous Reynolds Arena

Used to go and see Gateshead when I lived in Newcastle, a few hundred people rattling around in that colossal athletics stadiums, pints of Boddingtons for a quid

I was a regular at Feethams in the 1979/80 season when we lived in the area. Loved that ground, from the fairly unique entrance (archway ?) to the walk around the cricket ground, the Tin Shed end and the open terrace at the other end. I often used to stand in the corner next to the programme hut. This was 3 or 4 years before the infamous cup derby game against Middlesbrough so no segregation or away section and a mass changing of ends at half time.Very sad to see the state the site was in the last time we were in the area a few years ago.

yep, nice little old school town centre ground which suited Darlington perfectly. Replaced by an out of town white elephant which was never needed other than to massage the ego of a crook. Darlington never even got close to filling that stadium, I think even the opening game got something like 11,000

Was the Darlington Owner the one who tried to burn the old stadium down?

Made the trip up to Sutton Common Rovers v Chipstead this evening, two very dubious decisions defined the game, a very iffy penalty for Sutton where it looked like the chipstead man won the ball and then a red card for Sutton Common Rovers where it also looked like the ball was won. A 3-0 win for the home side at Gander Green Lane, an odd set up in a 4,000 capacity stadium with about 80 people in there, very odd. 81st game of the season so on the home stretch now. Hoping Leicester v Brighton away in January will be my 100th game, got some new grounds on the list in the next weeks if boris doesn’t lock us up, should have Bognor, Eastleigh, Lingfield, East Grinstead, Storrington and Seaford done in January, and maybe Oakwood and Horsham (although I’m reliably informed by milliepops Oakwood is an absolute dump).

Oakwood is an absolute dump!

It’s an interesting one around largest stadiums for smallest crowds. Worcester Raiders who play in the Hellenic 1 (step 6!!!) are currently playing at the Worcester Rugby stadium. All very surreal as they have goal music, flashing floodlights, decent catering, immense player facilities and usually get 80-100!

Fair play! 19 matches before then will be decent, I’m on 49 this season and feels like I’m always at a match so 81 is mental!
