Ridiculous game at Woodside, was like a game of basketball, end to end for the 90+ minutes.

Two sides who are great going forward but poor defensively made for great entertainment.

Lewes 2 up in 15 minutes, by the 35th minute Worthing were 3.2 ahead. A penalty each for both sides which looked like correct decisions.

4.2 Worthing straight after half time, chances were missed before it became 5.2 and it looked like game over.

Another penalty for Lewes, harshly awarded for handball in my opinion, and it was 5.3 which quickly became 5.4 with an absolute rocket of a shot set up a nervy final few minutes which Worthing just about saw out.

7 points from the last 3 games against top 6 sides is a fantastic return with 11 scored and 9 conceded. Good crowd of 1619 aswell.

Elsewhere in the division the leaders Enfield won 8.0 away at East Thurrock. Sounds like a rather dull 2nd half there after Enfield scored 7 in the first half!!

Made the journey to Woodside Road for the first time this season yesterday and was blown away by the quality and intensity of play .

Good luck to both teams for the rest of the season .

The ground improvements are particularly impressive and the replacement 3G playing surface looks top notch . Pleased to see pints still allowed at pitchside

Gonna give AFC Varndeanians in the sussex senior cup a visit tonight I think as my 5 a-side football is cancelled, then while not non league I've got a trip to AFC Wimbledon tomorrow to get that new ground ticked off.

I'm planning to take in a couple of Senior Cup ties this week.
Varndean this evening and hopefully Bexhill on Wednesday, if not I'll end up at Mile Oak.
Tuesday its Worthing v Merstham and Friday I'll be at Steyning v Lingfield in the County Premier.
Road to Wembley starts Saturday with a trip to Chertsey for Worthing in the FA Trophy, looking forward to a first visit there.

the Lewes lad who rates himself as a bit of a Grealish looks like a very dangerous player. The Worthing defenders shat themselves whenever he got it, and a great long range goal as well

Tanner. Yes he's getting better and had scored two great goals in the last two games

Lewes must be paying decent money to be attracting a player of Ollie Tanner's ability . Wouldn't be surprised though if he finds his way back to a higher level before too long .

A trip down to the soccer outpost of Selsey this evening for Horsham YMCA in a Sussex Senior Cup 1st Round tie.

My first visit to the Bunn Leisure Stadium for a fair few years. Always a warm welcome from the locals and I'm looking forward to the game.

Another win for Worthing which puts them top of the league, and an attendance of over 1000!

Had a look at the teams and it is that Barry Hayles on the bench for Merstham, ex Fulham and 49 years old apparently

Hastings United 1-3 Ashford United . The home side took the lead on the stroke of half time ( their only shot on target for the duration of the match )
Ashford were much improved though in the 2nd half and were deserved winners against their promotion rivals .
Another terrific attendance for an Isthmian SE fixture of 1303 .
