But they did get rid of a few small earners at the beginning of the season didn't they?

They made about 18 admin staff redundant due to an overestimation during the move to the Amex if memory serves me. All those listed above are a key part of the coaching and team support staff.

It just shows that you don't need all that extraneous stuff to get promoted, you just need a team playing in a system that's suited to them and they they are well versed in. Unfortunately we do not appear to have this at the moment so we can have as many doctors, or a professional set up as we like but is aint necessairly going to get us jeffing anywhere.

Barber can talk about PLR as much as he likes but if the team aren't doing it on the pitch it means feck all!!.

Disagree. Sam Allardyce attributes a lot of his success at Bolton (where few can argue that he did not overachieve) to the medical and sports science he set up behind the first team. I think the infrastructure is crucial, and when we have our full squad fit, with the staff we have and our brand new training facilities, we should have a competitive advantage over other teams.

Certainly our current training facilities have held us back in the Championship..

Our main UK scout was born in Cleethorpes actually and at one time played for Grimsby Town  His life experiences are virtually the same as what happened to Warren Aspinall.

and your point being that you can only be good as a scout if you were born in a big town and played for a big club? Or that you hate Cleethorpes and Grimsby?

Would you prefer us to take the same attitude as Palace - go up however we can by the skin of our teeth, get thrashed every week and look like clueless idiots, grab the cash, and get relegated with morale across the whole club completely wrecked- having seen what that did to Wolves in the Championship last season??

I must be losing the plot as I though Aranalde left the club.

Edit: Maybe I'm not so mad http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/13861347

Unless he re-joined us?

He did (re-join us).

I posted this in a thread back in April, when the same question cropped up:

Mustafa Kemal is correct (at least, in that Aranalde is back working for the Albion); the Argus reported on September 12 2012 that Aranalde had re-joined as part of Albion's player recruitment network in Europe. He originally left in June 2011 to become assistant head coach (to former team-mate Antonio Gomez) at Albacete. They finished 4th in Spain's third tier, before losing in the play-offs (hope that isn't an omen).

It will also be seen from this, that our destiny last season had been pre-determined.:mad:
