We might already have him but he hasn’t been given a chance yet.

I reckon Zeqiri might have it in his locker.

I’d probably risk the money on old Baghdad from what those who are aware of him are saying but of course it’s not my money

I wouldn’t be against Andone playing either

6 foot 7 Nigerian striker from Genk, played with Trossard. Scored 33 goals this season and got them Champions League football, can score with his head and both feet. He's basically an elite level Bas Savage because he's rapid and athletic as hell too. He fits the exact type of mould of striker we're missing & would be affordable around 20-30m like Maupay was. We absolutely should be going in for him.

I was sold as soon as he planted the KLL tumble celebration, quick, massive and he scores penalties too! Looks too good to be true.

If we're looking for a big name:

If we're looking to give Ali some company:

If we INSIST on buying from the Eredivisie:

If we're looking to take advantage of the Ligue 1 financial crisis:

If we're after a young South American talent who nobody has heard of:

If we fancy buying from Serie A for the first time:

...or the Portuguese league for the first time in a while:

The already-mentioned Kalajdzic would work wonders too.

I'm convinced that it will be one of these.

And just like that....

Agreed, built like a brick privvie, has subtlety in finishing and clearly will not be blown over like an anaemic daffodil within 3 feet of any defender.

Keep plugging away with this by all means Viper but it seems that this lad is attracting bigger fish now: http://www.thehardtackle.com/news/2021/05/25/transfer-news-liverpool-enter-race-for-paul-onuachu/

Also, as you’ve done the scouting and are running the “Onauchu In” campaign, does this lad has was it takes to drop wide or deep (like Welbeck & Maupay do very well) and support build-up play with quick, one touch football? Can he dribble and what’s his ball control like? I’ve not been impressed with Origi when it comes to his all round game, I wondering if Paul does more than score because if he can’t, he ain’t coming here.

At the end of my tether
By all means sign a central forward who knows where the goal is.. but “teams like Brighton “ need not so much one star player but for all the forward line and midfield to contribute a few goals each. That would make us climb the table.
This indecision and fluffing Of chances infects the whole team, not just Maupay and Connolly. Is it a matter of coaching? Psychology? If I knew the answer I’d be in the dug out!

I’ll say yes based purely on the fact he can take a penalty

I like the look of this guy. Strong, big, good in the air scores goals.

Have we signed anyone from the Belgian league before that’s been any good? [emoji848]

Overpriced but more 'proven' young, big, mobile strikers (range of pace from solid but still very mobile to insanely quick) who can hold up, pass and score with feet plus head and could be described as powerful and technical are....

Kasper Dolberg - Denmark starter - Nice (signed 20M Euro 2019 after breaking through at Ajax (who know about young players) 33 goals in 78 appearances in Dutch league some as sub then at Nice has 17 in 48 still a very good record in France). 2 goals in 2 games for Denmark during 2021 but 7 in 24 overall. Think he was mainly used as a sub earlier in career Internationally. Emile Hesky comparisons if being lazy.

Breel Embolo - Switzerland - Borussia Mönchengladbach via Schalke 04 and Basel (who also know about producing youth). Broke through with 21 in 61 in Swiss League then signed for 20M Euro again by club in bigger league. 10 in 48 in Germany played as a wide targetman or inside forward. Also played in midfield explaining goal ratio and is insanely quick. Would suit G.P.'s style I think when used up top. Missed almost a year of football after "a complicated ankle fracture, ruptured syndesmosis and medial collateral ligament damage" and after returning briefly he moved on to a second German side. 13 goals in 59 league games over those two seasons show he's fit and again not a pure striker but can be. Mario Balotelli without being a nutjob comparison often sited.

I'd put Tammy Abraham in the same group as these guys and think very comparable for experience, ability, characteristics, styles etc.

Edouard was the exception and more like Tammy, less like the first two. He's had less experience at a high level and instead of a slowly building career like first two he's taken the step backwards from PSG to Celtic like T.A. has done from Chelsea to his various loans. He was too young on loan at Toulouse to consider the 1 goal in 16 games relevant. 55 in 90 at Celtic is skewed doubly by not only the weak monkey tennis league but the fact he was at celtic who are a number of levels above the other sides (with one exception this past year). Also only shown what he can do for France youth teams as, well it's France! Nketiah is mental for England at that level but a Connolly type record in PL. He'd be by far the biggest gamble of the four but also cheapest. Comparable to a Championship scorer like Toney, Watkins or Maupay rather than the three above in my eyes.

That said people on this thread have linked great, cheaper options often with one year of experience being amazing.
