Anyone think it's worth going back for Dean Hammond...?

I know when he first went there, he struggled to get into their first team, despite the fact that Colchester were utter rubbish.

Is he still languishing in their Reserves........? I notice that Colchester aren,t in the bottom 6, so presume they must be in League 2 now.

Good old Dick.......he knows a thing or two about football players....!

As we have been remided, you good sir, buys five season tickets. Is that possible by over-extending your budget?

Dick Knight clearly wanted to keep Hammond, they offered him a few contracts, didn't they? But Colchester came in with a much better offer? Would it have been wise to throw caution to the wind and obliterate the wage structure? His offer was going to make him the highest paid player in the history of Brighton and Hove Albion. Why didn't you stump up some of your treasure trove if you were certain that Hammond was the key to success.

I suspect the wage structure of the club, is that there is a ceiling placed on the basic wage. Hence Dick Knight could truthfully say...." so and so, wanted to be the highest paid player at the club".......(I believe this statement was made about Savage too). I would expect, that there are several players on the books, who receive "the highest wage".

Of course, what will make the REAL difference, is the terms of their contract re bonuses i.e....appearance money, goals scored money, win bonuses.etc etc etc.

Do you really think that someone like Nicky Forster, joined us without having some hefty bonus scheme attached to his contract...?

Dean Hammond left this club, because Dick Knight didn't care for the way his contract negotiations were conducted......(apparently backed by Dean Wilkins ). Dick Knight has now become bigger than the club......so he can do as he wishes. Unfortunately, this will hurt his pocket........as well as the other shareholders.

As for your statement......."would it be wise to throw caution to the wind", how would you describe the absolute panic in signing soooooooooo many loan players recently.........at what appears to me, to be a huge cost to the club....?

PS; I use ONE season ticket for myself.........I,m not over extended, but thankyou for your concern.

Sadly not, Anderson looked like he won't be back judging by the way he chucked his gloves into the crowd
I remember Pinamonte throwing his shirt into the crowd after his final appearance for us and the club deducted the price of a new shirt from his wages ;)

 Surely he would have got to keep it anyway - if it was his last game, it couldn't be used again with his name on the back!
