Top 6, the players have shown their standard, assuming a similar style of play. Long may their standard remain or maybe even improve with the tweaking of a new coach.

7th would be unacceptable?
Difficult one. We'd all like (I think) for the team to just carry on as they're doing - so yes, a Potter-like manager is an obvious preference. BUT, there isn't another exactly like Potter out there (I shouldn't think) so ultimately Potter-like will turn out to be Potter-lite.
So, the new manager will have to bring his own ideas, sell them to the players, and succeed with his plans. That will inevitably be a bump in the road - and possibly difficult to accept because I suspect many, like me, would just like things (on the pitch) to carry on as they are.
As it's now looking likely any new HC/manager is likely to be someone who has no playing and/or managerial experience of English football, the winter weather, the lads banter, even English itself and so on...
Well, I was wondering where we (or you) would deem acceptable in terms of our league finish this season? and even next.
I'm stepping WAY back from 4th and would settle for survival - although granted, this would be disappointing... Lest we forget it took a certain 'legendary' head coach two full seasons to realise his top ten credentials.
I hope others can see the logic here, it's going to take time... time... After all the criticism (quite rightly) aimed at Chelsea are we going to be prepared to give it ? ?
Yes, the squad is better than two seasons ago... just ?!? But we must all acknowledge that changing the whole coaching team (thanks Graham) is really going to have an impact.
Patience is indeed going to be a virtue.
I think it’s more nuanced than just a league position. The absolute minimum has to be 17th, but 17th following a tricky start as players adjusted to the new approach is very different to 17th after some good early results but then limping over the line as results drop off the longer the manager is in post.
