Because they've glanced at it, seen different colours and incorrectly interpreted it as a nod to the rainbow flag (despite it only having maybe 3 colours that match), used it as a chance to use the word "woke" again despite having no idea what it means..and then instead of admitting it isn't actually what they thought, they've then instead doubled down by claiming the flag should never be tampered with, despite it having been done several times over, probably on shirts they wore themselves.
