What station? I’m going to tune in for a laugh.

Have to applaud Nikes fishing trip with this.

Out of interest, did any other teams with exactly the same template get a playful update to their flag on the collar?

Edit - I'm on. First words I heard were someone saying "it's not about racism.." and then ppl shouting over them. Haha. Just rewound to the start. I have to say though, this is really low hanging fruit. Makes me feel a bit dirty listening to it, like when I go on the shed end whenever Chelsea lose.
It was on 5live. The Nicky Campbell phone in every 9 AM is often a very amusing listen

Sorry I would have replied in good time but we decided to go for a lovely walk.

Wasnt it Emily Thornberry that slated that block of flats a few years ago during a tournament for all having St George flags hanging up?
Yep. Lovely voice. She should do TV adverts for chocolate digestives. I'd buy a pack.

They used the cross element of the flag.. That's it. The way people are talking is as if all england shirts have always had the flag image on it and this is the first time we've removed it and replaced it with something else.

They have used a cross. Like LOADS of england shirts have in the past. Yet this one has caused a 'storm'. We all know why, it's the selection of colours.

If Wales printed a yellow dragon eblem on the back, no one would care.
If Scotland printed a cross that wasn't the colour of their flag, I imagine no one would care.....but as we all know, no country has ever had to go through this terrible travesty poor old ENGLAND are being subjected to. The Scottish wouldn't stand for it.

Hang on....

For what it's worth, when I chanced upon the picture I think I thought "..." and clicked another news item. Then the same old voices shrieked blue murder, then Keir and now Rish! have piped up, and I feel as if I'm being forced to have an OPiNioN.

But I don't. I bloody do about the price. But honestly, that tiny cross on the back of the collar? Is that what has inspired 11 pages of (quite humorous admittedly) content here, and fake outrage across the country?

Give me a break.

That literally has a saltire beneath the Scottish FA badge.
So? It's the principle of messing with the flag that seems to be the issue.

Loads of our kits in the past have had no flag whatsoever and no one seemed to care.

Yet now we have no flag, but a cross, people care and cite the lack of flag.

Please see my previous post with the green england GK kit COVERED in different coloured crosses.

I thought the issue was that the right wing press are desperate to talk about anything other than politics and this visit rwanda nonsense

Also please note the 'saltire' beneath is not the actual scottish flag, but a WIBBLY WOBBLY cross.

Meaning this kit has TWO INCORRECT FLAGS ON IT.

I don't think (?) anyone has a problem with using the St George flag as a design element? Have been loads of examples down the years.

The problem is that's it's the only 'flag' on the shirt and... and.... some don't like the.... the... colour choices.

Not my fight. I don't care.

DHGate should release their fake with the red cross on it. They'd sell a shit load.

Shilton talks sense:

Shilton, who played in the 1982, 1986 and 1990 World Cups and is the current record holder for most professional appearances, said the England football team represent the country, "and red white and blue are the colours that we have on our flag".

:lolol:
Shilton was apparently one of our best ever keepers but the thing is I cannot remember a single save he ever made.

It isn't a flag. It's a thing on a shirt. Like a poppy (remember that debacle?). It has only been on the shirt for 15 years or so and this is not the first 'interpretation' cross. We have had wavy crosses, and we have had Chevrolet badge shaped ones (I have one like that. Lovely, it is).

Don't be triggered by oaves like Anderson and Farrage. You're better than that
Exactly. I can't believe how much crap this has generated, both here and elsewhere, but it is worth stating, in capitals:

NO ONE HAS CHANGED THE f***ing FLAG!

God, what a bunch of morons we have in this country. Easily triggered, one might even say 'snowflake' morons as well. How did it come to this? When did the English become so stupid that they can mistake a design on a shirt for our national flag? I'd like to think it's only a tiny minority of Lee Anderson types but I'm not sure it is. It is really, genuinely, depressing. :(
