The must-have albums of 2013

I've only heard a few tracks from it but Manchester band, Money have a debut album 'The Shadow of Heaven' and it's already being tipped for a Mercury nomination. The tracks I've heard are quite epic too. Has anyone got the album yet?

Yeah, I've been using it as a kinda counterpoint to the Drenge album. Lots of six-minute songs and lengthy (but not over-long) piano sequences. Can knock you up a copy if you want, might even be able to dig out the promo

What do you think will win?

David Bowie - I can't see how they'll be able to resist beefing up the brand by giving it to a genuine legend. Decent enough, album IMHO, but I think there was a lot of critical desire for it to be great. Certainly the best thing he's done for a long, long time though.

What would you like to win?

I have money on Savages at 25/1 but I am torn between These New Puritans & Steve Mason for who I'd most like to win.

Reznor back to his best.

Can't agree with this, simply because I think he's been doing some of his best work over the last few years.

The Slip was great, Ghosts is lovely background music, and the soundtracks (especially Social Network) are brilliant.

Just finished listening to it as it goes. Very enjoyable. I haven't heard a NiN album since The Fragile, so the more electronic sound came as something of a shock to me but I've missed out over a decade so it may be more familiar to you.

Foals were very unlucky their last record didn't win (it had the misfortune to be released the same year as The XX), there's some great songs on this new record but I don't think it is as good an album. By that rationale, I'd imagine they'll win.

The last 3 winners have been guitar based so I wouldn't be suprised to see something a little different this year. Disclosure looks a bit long at 14/1.
