Just asking on behalf of the NSC seniors :lolol:

As we get older do we just let all these rising prices wash over us?

Mrs H treated me to a night at The Savoy for my 60th, we had a drink (s) in The American Bar, 2 glasses of Proseco and two bottles of Peroni, £55 including the service charge.

There's no point doing a Victor Meldrew, we're only here once 👍

Probably the Stones at Hyde park, a few years ago. Pre-gig food and drinks at some poncy hotel near Hyde Park ( I must say, the food was exquisite), the Grandstand (not the best view at all) but free hospitality area/drinks near the stage and a night in a hotel a few mins walk away, afterwards.
About £1500 for the 2 of us - would I do it again?
Nope.
Poncy hotel, good food, The Stones....sounds like a top night.

For gig tickets, nowadays I refuse to pay the stupid prices for the likes of Wembley Stadium to watch a band on the big screen with crap sound.

I did spend over $500 on a pair of NFL tickets to watch the Denver Broncos but that was for a major birthday. Flights, hotels, tickets for the baseball ($25 each I think) and a day tour into the Rockies which included a trip to Red Rocks arena made it a very expensive but worthwhile weekend away.

Something like €125 for some Atleti vs Juventus tickets 5 years ago. Although I have a feeling I might have paid around £120 for some rugby world cup tickets for Wales vs Fiji in a group game in Cardiff. Tried to forget about it but apparently I haven't.

Overall, probably the semi-final against United. Red jet crossing from the Island only to find nothing running out of Portsmouth Harbour or Havant as someone had thrown themselves on the line. Stumped up £150 for taxi from Havant + BoxPark + match tickets for me and my two boys + train home.

If you don't include "festivals", and don't include foreign travel, hotels etc, I think the most for a ticket is probably around £180 for Smackdown or Raw can't remember which. But that was on the terrace (Pepsi Max deck or whatever it was called) at the O2 and included a drink and food, and table service.

2 x £171 for Springsteen this year, good seats and great experience. 4 x £151 for Oasis Wembley tickets for the family. I’m the best Dad ever in my daughter’s book!

I paid £150 to watch Man Utd - Liverpool at Old Trafford on Sunday. I don't remember spending more ever for an event.

An old university friend, big Liverpool fan, asked me weeks ago if I fancied a nostalgic day or two up there (we were students in Manchester many years ago). So after the match at the Emirates on Saturday we headed north and had a great couple of days. He agreed to buy a 'tourist ticket' for Arsenal - Albion if I did the same for Old Trafford. (l got my Emirates ticket legitimately through Brighton in the usual way.) It was a lot to shell out but we had a great time and I have to say, I really enjoyed the ManU-Liverpool game too. Bit hungover today.

Most expensive meal was €135 per head for an eight-course tasting menu in a Michelin star vegetarian restaurant in Lisbon. With drinks and service charge it came to about £400 for the two of us. As a one off, it was nice to have done for a special occasion but in all honesty, I would have preferred a pizza.

I would have paid over £100 to see Oasis if it had been at the Brixton Academy or Hammersmith Odeon (or a similar mid-sized venue) but I have never been to a stadium gig and I’m not sure I would enjoy it. Most I have paid is probably about £60 to see Paul Weller earlier this year, which isn't bad.

FA Cup semi final tickets were probably the most I have spent on a football match although I can’t remember how much they were.

I have probably paid more but wiped it from my memory!

Family trip to New York and spent around £750 for NBA tickets over a decade ago. My then teenage boys were both basketball mad and our trip coincided with opening game of the season New York v Chicago and New Jersey were only playing away.

We had really good seats in Madison Square Gardens, it was the main reason the boys wanted to go to the USA, but I still wince at the price even with Taylor Swift providng half time entertainment.
