I think that 1-5 against Stoke really does take some beating.

England v Croatia is up there as well. We only had to avoid defeat ffs.

England v Brazil 2002 was totally gutless. And pretty much EVERY England game in the 2006 World Cup - other than the first half v Sweden, I was cringing with embarrassment throughout.

Vankleek Hill, actually....
I flew over for the Brighton vs. Stoke game due to being one of the match sponsors.

There was no passion in the team whatsoever that day. The only person who did show some balls to play was Doug Loft which is why he got man of the match.

I was at the 0-5, and the game we lost 4-1 to someone like Torquay or Plymouth or Darlington at Gillingham. Man alive we were awful.

But the worst sporting performance I have simply ever seen took place on June 23rd 1996 -- the Axa Equity and Law Sunday league match between Sussex and Glamorgan at Hove. It was the season before we lost all our key players, so by rights we should have done OK, even with our slightly creaky lineup. We were done over by a 2nd XI bowler, Owen Parkin (nickname "Disabled") who was about 19 at the time.

I reprint the full HORROR for you to inspect below.

England v Germany last game at old Wembley no passion we were woeful

Remember us losing to the West Indies a few years back in the cricket all out for 49 or something. The players were totally gutless and looked like they wanted to get back to the beach as soon as possible (not that Ambrose was complaining)

Fulham vs Huddersfield Town

200- odd

Town were 12 points clear at the top of the championship at Xmas and had had a dodgy few months. last game of the season, needed to win or draw at Fulham to be automatically promoted to the Premier under Steve Bruce.

I was there with my brother and we lost 3-0 and it could have been 10. ( we then lost in the first playoff games)

To cap it all it took 30 minutes to get out of the ground as the Hudds hoolies took it very badly and spend half an hour destroying anything they could get their hands on...it was truly the worst day I have had at football.

( having said that the playoff final with Notts County came close)

brighton v palace - no doubt

we were a disgrace, the players looked like they couldnt give a shit, and losing 5-0 in the first meeting between us and them in YEARS was an absolutely digsuting result

yet people still applauded them off at the end

Away to Plymouth in the mickey mouse cup eons ago, I think it was the Auto Windscreen shield, I don't even remember, but we were piss poor the whole match, Plymouth pissed all over us but couldnt score, we won on penalties, and all 50 of us went nuts !!!

I cannot describe how gutted I was, my first trip to the new Wembley as well.

The sole crumb of comfort was the inevitable sacking of McClown.
