Which is my point.
Granted I have woken up with my contrarian head on today.

We can't complain and poor human error refereeing AND the introduction of VAR.

In the same way as we can't complain about poor behaviour from the Met AND behave anti social morons just because theres lots of us together.

After watching the start of Ronald's video, I can see why we got treated like that at the end. Doesn't excuse the crush at the station, caused by shit planning, but...

Some of our fans need to have a long think about their behaviour at this fixture.

What is clever, tough or hard about trying to rip off car wing mirrors whilst being escorted back to the station.

I thought they'd turned a corner last year with a much less heavy handed approach- nobody held back, no crush at the station, no problem.

But back to their absolute bollocks yesterday. Very disappointing
I thought the same given last year, and was expecting the same this time, but a backward step taken by the Met. Maybe it was the Saturday 3pm kick off that made them change their approach.

A two meter gap for us to funnel through at the station, I knew it would end badly, luckily I was at the front right by the gap so I got pushed through the line with my hands in the air. Plenty of people behind me fell over
I always thought that in a crush situation it was always best to kept your arms crossed in front of your chest to ensure both heart and lungs were protected.
But same, I was pushed through a gap in the railings, then again onto platform. Thankfully there was no crush at the top of the steps.

It was more so I didn't get battered by the cops

Yep, as usual whilst we were being kettled I'm equally irritated by our own idiotic excuses for fans as I am by the pretty appalling crush directly caused by the Met. This fixture really does bring out the worst in both.

Palace is the one away fixture I will not go to. God knows I went to enough in the 1970s/80s for them to have a government health warning issued. To be honest, I don’t like the home fixture either - well, I do in the end if we win!

I suppose it’s an age thing. I’ve survived the bricks, bottles and lumps of concrete coming my way in the old White Horse Lane end and also the Holmesdale end, when the away fans were put into the corner in the 80s.

No, for me it’s just the complete shitfest of being told what to do, where to go, what you say and everything else.
When I go and watch a game now I want to do it on my terms - get off a train without being corralled, go to a pub of my choosing and enjoy a few pints, stroll up to the ground without being herded behind some barrier and told to wait - ditto leaving the ground.

So for those of you who went to Selhurst Park on Saturday - well done on your commitment and loyalty. I wish I could match it, but at least I can say “been there, done it, and got the T-shirt” !

Even sticking their stupid stickers on people’s cars pissed me off. What have the local residents done to deserve being dragged into their petty grievance. If you really have to be a dick, at least save it for inside the ground where people might expect it.

I needed to make a fairly swift getaway yesterday, so bolted for the exit one minute before the end of added time, only to be met by the thick blue line. And when I say 'thick'...... Turning left, I thought I'd try and blag my way out of the situation as I needed to get to Selhurst station. Honesty didn't work, so I watched the tactics of a few other people and worked my way down the line until I was successful. You could have shown them any Seagulls Travel related email/screenshot, even from a totally different match a few years ago; they just glanced at whatever they were shown. A few people managed the old 'my car's parked just around the corner' trick - some were asked which road they parked in (a foolproof way of weeding out the tricksters, I'm sure you'll agree), but many just had to show a car key. What worked for me was pleading on behalf of some poor guy who only lived in Brixton, but was potentially being asked to walk all the way to Thornton Heath station rather than hopping on a 25min bus ride home from the adjacent road. I asked him if he has his address on him, and sure enough the production of his driving license did the trick. The hapless WPC obviously assumed I was with the aforementioned bloke and let the pair of us through..... I was back home in LA well before 7pm.

I blame the recruitment agencies. The lowest of the low. They’re clearly putting out extra met police on a temporary basis to squeeze extra hours.

I've heard after the money they’ve been making on the NHS bank staff and now this... They'll be shopping for a nice new top man suit.
