anyone else watch it on TV last night?

I had no idea that fur was making a comeback in fashion (probably more to do with me living in the far north and latterly Wales - where sheep wool is the closest we get!)

The DVD that Heather McCartney had of the Dog being skinned alive was quite excruciating ...

I am not a big McCartney fan, but all power to their campaign

I watched it and thought it was a load of crap. It makes me want to wear fur just to spite her.

I have it on good authority that Heather Mills has skinned her own beaver, so it shows what hypocrites they are.

I would tend to agree. The arguments against wearing fur are actually exactly the same as the arguments against eating meat - I'm sure you could show equally harrowing pictures of Halal butchers or the even the slaughterhouses that supply the supermarkets.

It's funny that on one hand you get people telling us to save the planet by using renewable resources, and then when people try and make clothes out of a 100% natural substance they're abused for it.

I hope no one wearing leather is going to say how appalling wearing fur is.

Indeedy. I wear leather, eat dead cow, sheep and pig frequently, me and my kids ride on hunts, we shoot and even own real fur. I am the person McCartney has nightmares about.

Having heard 'Mull of Kintyre' all too many times I have a few nightmares about Mr McCartney.

congratulations...

did you miss the bit with the dogs and cats layered into flat cages that were then thrown around to inflict maximum pain...? or the already mentioned dogs being skinned alive?

to some these unnecessarily cruel practices raise slightly different issues to those associated with intensive farming in food production - i'm not saying that there is no problem with battery chickens etc, but two wrongs don't make a right...

Thanks. And nope, I didn't miss any of it - I saw the whole show. I'm still going to eat dead cow, still going to wear my leather shoes, still going to teach my kids how to hunt and shoot despite what McCartney and their ilk think.

Starry, skinning dogs alive is plain wrong.
