Oh please, seriously mate. Like I said the Bus thing I have no excuse other than didn't read the email properly when I got it. But when you find a break in the weather up there on you're high horse..get over yourself! Today was the first time I've ever done the ticket collection/change thing and bringing a person whose never been!
But if you get past your own self importance you'll understand what I was trying to get across was that for 'someone new'....the 'Match Day Experience' wasn't good at all....regardless of what I didn't know!
And for the record....if you can take a joke.........Yes it is their fault if they don't cum!

Oh.... I thought your thread was a joke.

The bloke next to me called a few hours before kick off and said he wasn't going to make it today!
Called a mate who had never been before and said he could use my mates ticket at a cost of £5 for the printing of the ticket only.
At this point imagine the excitement of my mate!
He drove to Woodingdean and parked up and we waited almost 30 mins for a bus before phoning a cab at 2:40 and only then...finally a bus turned up for the driver to start on about the fact buses were no longer free..... Despite the increase in ticket prices last season to cover bus travel...allegedly....and that we couldn't get a bus home as we had to pre-book and only 2 buses booked!
"What?????"
We arrived at 2:45 to find the queue for the ticket office off the scale and made it into the ground at 3:25...just great! Queue full of other season ticket holders whose new tickets didn't work!
Then having to explain that we had to go to the bars at around 10 mins before the end of the first half in order to get a drink as if we didn't we may not get a beer!!!
Then having to book a cab back to Woodingdean as per the Drivers instructions we couldn't get a bus back to Woodingdean after the game in order to get home!!

'Match Day Experience'............it's a fv#*ing shit experience.
No chance of my mate coming again now!

Thanks for nothing Barber!

Wake up and smell the coffee mate, this was common knowledge over 3 weeks ago!

So 50 minutes before the largest event in the whole of the UK today you decided it was time to get to the event destination in the knowledge that you needed to get to the event ticket office in time to collect a printed ticket. Failing to realise that the club no longer supplied a "special" service for you that was broadcast some weeks ago, and that only normal services were available in the ticket price, was obviously again the fault of the event organisers of the largest gathering of people in the whole of the Uk today. And now you feel the need to complain.

OH DEAR!

Like I said, the bus thing is something I didn't know about....have to fall on my sword about that.

But shouldn't take over 35 mins to get a ticket.....or do you think that's ok

Silly old bat
Mate of mine said that loads of people turned up for the special bus from Rottingdean, only to find it no longer exists. The Seagulls Travel one let them on as a one-off. But where have these people been hiding all summer? The club could hardly have publicised it much more and surely most people would check their travel plans anyway before the first game?

The communications from the club have been abysmal all summer. Nsc found out about the bus changes from B&H buses before the club said anything. The emails from the club are very hit & miss too. I don't get them although I do get the weekly newsletter and confirmation of ticket bookings. I have complained to the club numerous times that I am not getting the emails. I find out most news from Nsc.

Not ok but to be expected with so many people coming to the ground for the first time this season, over 400 had failed to pay their DDRs so would have had problems there are several cases of computer error by the club with tickets, all to be expected for the very first major game of the season, remember today was always going to be the first day of the season people could use smart cards, bound to be problems.

OH DEAR!

Thanks for proving my point with your awesome sarcasm.

That with only limited time, I tried to get to an event that the organisers 'charged an extra £30 to the season ticket prices' last year especially to cover bus travel arranged.....if I didn't get the new instructions or read them....I'll swallow that.....but doesn't change the fact it was supposed to be covered in the cost of a season ticket! Or whatever to normal ticket!
So that "special" service that we all paid for last season has been dissolved and an extra cost now put in its place! Oh we'll that's ok then!
And that taking over 35 mins to get a ticket is ok as well!
And if it was the largest gathering of people in the uk today I take it by the wording of your post is that you knew that before kick off......if so, can you give me 6 numbers for Tuesday please mate?

Saw the ticket office que on my way in at 2.40. Was a little surprised they didn't delay ko as per Villarreal game.

You sure you saw that mate?

Because going by the general response to my thread I should have known about it and its perfectly normal!

I agree. I have never received emails from the club even though I have told them many times.

Careful mate, don't say things like that.

I don't recall getting anything re the new bus travel.....but that's all my fault and I should have known about it even though I don't recall reading fvck all about it!
It's possible I'm wrong and just deleted it.
But, obviously technology is 100% right every time and everything works perfectly and everyone got the message!

I went to Barnet v Chester today to see the first ever game at Britain's newest football stadium - The Hive - and I was mightily impressed. Free coaches and buses were laid on (as the ground is six miles away in Edgware), a ticket office that was quick and efficient, and a stadium with real character (two terraces at either end, a huge main stand and directors/posh seats on the dugout side. The Chester fans were magnificent and brought around 800. Most importantly the match kicked off on time with no problems. The training facilities are Premier League class - every team seems to use them if they play at Wembley or in north London.

What a nightmare it sounds, trying to watch a game at your local club. I have only experienced it as an away fan. Local infrastructure is dreadful. I'm pleased I don't have to put up with this every other week.
