The Man Utd are shit and getting outclassed thread

It was a novel tactic to not bother marking messi.

:lolol:

Some interesting decisions all round really - playing Rooney out wide even when they needed a goal, playing an ageing man against fast and CLASS opponents in the middle of the park...and Berbatov, good grief!

Scholes making an appearance and still getting his trademark late booking was good though!

Absolutely. Said long before half-time Anderson should have been picking him up. I think Fergie must have thought he would play on the right and expected Evra to take care of him. Guardiola completely outwitted Fergie tonight (Why start with two wingers up front, and Rooney wide??!), and Barca were class, but Carrick, Rooney, Vidic, Evra and others were very, very poor.

Still, I did think Pique was the weak link Man United needed to exploit before the game, and he was MOTM for me.

Manchester United's story tonight was more about EGO'O than Eto'O.

They thought they'd arrived, and all they had to do was turn up. The Ronaldo show?
It WAS all about him for ten minutes, but then that was the only player it was about - so when Barca realised that, they turned on the gas and COOKED United.

Carrick was awful. Not a decent pass all match, and he kept getting dispossessed or wrong-sided by his marker.

Giving the big-time Charlies the red carpet is also proving Fergie's undoing - he dare not take off a Rooney or a Ronaldo, and Berbatov is too crap to be even on the bench let alone coming on at all.

Evra and Ferdinand played well enough, and Rooney put in the effort despite getting run into blind alleys.

It's time Ferguson really flexed his muscles, got the max £ for Berbatov and Ronaldo, retired Scholes and Giggs, and phased in some of these lads on the peripheral - and pronto.
That should be that crowd's last season, and time for the new breed to become Fergie's legacy.

Outclassed enough to turn into a team of cloggers by the end. Total lack of class in the manner United played the last 10 mins and I loved seeing them on the end of a humbling.

What was even funnier was the desperate clutching of straws, by the ITV commentators, that they might still turn it around after the 2nd goal

and to be fair Ronaldo was about the only one who seemed to want it.

But say, for instance, you are on a team where one person is looking to get the killer blows in, get all the glory. Do you really fully put your heart into it when you see him taking long hopeful shots, impatient greedy runs and never passes? Even on the park team you get fed up with an individual player who's being selfish and wasteful.
But they can't tell Ronaldo that - he's Ronaldo, he's the man. And he's a loser tonight, along with the rest of them.

It looked good...for ten minutes - but it's a game of 9 ten minuteses!

Barca kept Ronaldo quiet - and ergo the whole United team was a baby put to bed.

Bless it could easily have been 4 hit the post, Henry chance? Barca were superb and there was nothing the other lot could do.

I can't believe Puyol is out-diving Ronaldo

That, for me, was an absolute HIGHLIGHT

Seeing the rueful "that diving bastard" look splattered all over Ronaldo's face after Puyol had done his triple-pike following that lunge from the oily pilchard was absolutely PRICELESS.

Good days.
Good days.

I must admit, even though I wanted Utd to win, that was indeed very very funny.

Just seen the goals. Two quality goals, especially the second. What a joy to watch.

id say the second was a simple goal due to the back 4 + Carrick being utterly static while the rest of the midfield thinking they were playing another game half way up the pitch. great finish but really should never have had the chance.

Terrific cross, great twisting leap to a considerable height and perfect placement. I accept your points about the defending, but that was class, whichever way you slice it.

I was dissapointed not to see Ronaldo break down in tears, that would have made my week, now can he f*** off to real madrid?

Are you serious? Messi was at full stretch and still guided it back across goal. You won't get many better headed goals than that.

No matter what the defence should have done the goal was still top draw.
